Aspen's POV:
I had never seen her this upset. She was hysterical. I ran as fast as I could to Maxon's office. I could get in so much trouble for leaving her room unattended, but right now it was my only choice. I knocked on the door. No answer. I risked entering. Maxon was sitting at his desk with his head in his hands. His whole body was hunched over. He had the same photo America threw on his desk. He looked broken. I whispered with urgency to Maxon, "Maxon. She's hysterical. You have to go to her now." Maxon jumped up. "What!" He was finally back. "She threw a photo frame." Maxon began running.

Maxon's POV:
Why did this palace have to be so damn big? I wrenched open her door. Other then the broken picture on the floor, everything looked normal. Except for the note on her bed.

Her rings were laid on top of it, and it read:
I'm sorry, I'm no longer tugging my ear
