Dedicated to LunaTheMermaid72 and anyone who is going tough times.
This story is a sequel story to Final Breaths (Part 5 in this book)
Again, this is only like 500-1,000 words long.
Zelda melancholy walked down the stairs of the castle. It had been 3 months since Link's passing and she had barely survived it. It was like she living the life of someone else. Someone who was long gone.
It hurt to be in the castle, because of all the memories the walls held and picture frames held. The history. It hurt. It hurt like there was no tomorrow. Everyone in Hyrule had moved on. All except her.
She remembered what Rusl had said to her a week ago.
"Zelda, I haven't forgotten about him. Every time I think about him it hurts, but I learned to cope with it. You need to let it go and move on. He will always be in your heart, but it's time to find the light at the end of the tunnel and by dwelling on his death is only making you wander further away from that light."
Zelda had tried to take the advice and let go, but she just couldn't do it.
"Zelda, you need to see someone," Her maiden—Justine—would always say.
Maybe it was time to get help.
❤️
"So, you're dwelling on the death of your boyfriend?" The Therapist—Lisa—asked.
"Well, he's not my boyfriend...uh...crush," Zelda replied, flushing a deep red.
"Do not be embarrassed," Lisa said. "Did he know of this crush?"
"Yes, well, I don't know...he confessed to me just before he...he..." Zelda couldn't finish her sentence as tear threatened to fall.
"Died?" Lisa asked.
"Mhm," Zelda replied, slowly nodding her head. "He loved me, but I'm not sure if he knew that I loved him back."
"I see," Lisa said, scribbling stuff down on a notepad. "Look, Zelda...may I call you that?"
"Yes," Zelda replied, forgetting she was the Princess.
"...You need to let Link go. I know it's hard, but remember he will always...always be in your heart," Lisa said.
"Ok, I'll try," Zelda said.
"Look through the lens of the Triforce. See the previous Hero's and Princess's. See what pulled them along," Lisa said.
How did she know about that?
"Maybe then, you'll be able to let him go," Lisa said.
"Okay, I will, thank you for your time Lisa," Zelda said.
"Your welcome Princess, and I am truly sorry about your loss," Lisa said.
"Thank you," Zelda said, before walking out the door.
❤️
Zelda sat down and looked through the lens of the Triforce. She saw the previous Hero's and Princess's that came before her. She even saw the ones that came after her. There were three words that rang through her mind countless times, all said in different voices.
"I love you."
Zelda gasped, opening her eyes. The key was love. Her love for Link will pull her through, just as every other incarnation of her has done.
Zelda got up and walked through the halls of the castle, feeling the smooth or rough feeling of the walls as her hand ran across them.
🎶These walls and all these picture frames, every name they show. These halls I've walked a thousand times. Heartbreaks and valentines, friends of mine all know.🎶
🎶I look at everything I was and everything I ever loved and I can how much I've grown. And though the mirror doesn't see it, it's clear to me, I feel it. I can make it on my own. I'm not afraid of moving on and letting go. It's just so hard to say goodbye to what I know. I know.🎶
🎶This time no one's gonna goodbye. I keep you in this heart of mine. This time I know it's never over. No matter who or what I am, I'll carry where it all began. This time that we had, I will hold...forever.🎶
🎶These old familiar places, where every face is another part of me. I played a different game then, they called me a different name then. I think of all the things I did and how I wish I knew what I know now.🎶
🎶I see how far I've come and what I got right. When I was looking for that spotlight, I was looking for myself. Got over what I was afraid of, I showed 'em all that was made of more than trophies on a shelf. For all the battles that we lost and might have won, I never stopped believing in the words we sung. We sung.🎶
🎶This time no one's gonna say goodbye. I keep you in this heart of mine. This time I know it's never over. No matter who or what I am, I'll carry where it all began. This time that we had, I will hold...forever.🎶
🎶I'm looking out from the crossroads. I don't know how far away I will roll. I take a breath, I close my eyes. Your voice will carry me home.🎶
🎶This time no one's gonna say goodbye. I keep you in this heart of mine. This time I know it's never over. No matter who or what I am, I'll carry where it all began.🎶
🎶This time that we had, I will hold. This time that we had, I will hold. This time that we had, I will hold...forever. Forever.🎶
(This Time by Glee Cast)
Zelda took a breath in and then out. When she opened her eyes, she knew. She knew that she was ready. Ready to let go and no matter what happened, she was never alone.
That's it. Zelda learned to move on and realise that's she's never alone. I just wanna say that I am here for you if you are going through something bad. There are always people here (and by 'here' I mean in the world) to help you. Please don't take your life, no matter how hard of dark things get. There is always going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. You just have to dig your way up to it.
