6- A Tree's Blood

|Hunter's POV|

I walked into the head witch Terra' s green house, Belos told me she needed me for a special mission. "Head Witch Terra" I saluted "Ah, little sun flower, I need you to go on a mission for me." She walked into a separate room and pointed at a huge drawing of a tree with glowing red roots.

"I need you to venture deep in to the forest of the Right Hand and find this tree, I have been waiting for 40 years for it to produce blood and now I'm too old to go. The name of the tree is Sanguis Radices. Do you know latin little sunflower?"

I shook my head no. "Well Sanguis Radices directly translates to blood roots, it is called that because of how red the sap from the roots is. Now run along you have a long journey ahead of you."

I walked out of her green house and teleported back to the castle and walked to Y/n's room. "Y/n?" I said while knocking at their door. I heard no response so I knocked again. Still nothing. "Excuse me scout have you seen The Crow Guard leave her room?" I asked a scout near by, "uh no sorry Golden Guard sir, she hasn't left her room all day."

Now I was worried so I knocked on the door one final time and said "Y/n, I'm coming in!" I opened the door and she was fast asleep at her desk with a ton of books surrounding her.

"Y/n?" I said as I gently shook her awake "No no no give me 10 more minutes" she said in an annoyed and groggy voice. "Y/n it's 2:30 pm and we have to prepare for our mission" she moved her head from the desk and stretched "what are we *yawn* doing?"

"We have to go on a 10 day trip to the Right Hand, and retrieve some Sanguis Radices root sap."

Y/n got up and started cleaning up the mess of books on her desk and arranging them in her book shelf. "Ok I'll start packing. Do you know what the temperatures will be at night? I want to be prepared I always underpack." I wasn't really sure but I know the hand isn't one for being a very cold place "it shouldn't be very cold, anyways I'll leave you to it. We leave at dawn tomorrow."

Right before I left I took a glimpse at what Y/n was reading and saw a book on scrying potions amd how to be specific about who you are trying to find.

|Y/n' s POV|

Hunter walked out the door and I started packing. I packed 12 outfits,  (the extra 2 where just in case) pajamas, and a blanket. (Hunter said it wouldn't be to cold so I only packed one)

I walked over to Hunter's room and knocked on the door. He answered it wearing his golden guard mask but upon seeing it was just me he took it off.

"Yes?" He asked slightly annoyed. "Do I need to pack like an air mattress and a tent orr..."

"You only need to bring stuff for you. I'll handle the other stuff" I then realized how fun this was going to be "are we going to stay up telling our deepest secrets and stuff!?" I asked excitedly, all Hunter did was looked confused then shut his door.

|Time Skip|

"Ok and you are sure we have everything?" I asked concerned. Hunter sighed then said "yes I'm sure I had Steve triple check everything. Speaking of Steve he keeps looking at me weird when I'm around you, do you know what that's about?"

I knew exactly what it was about but instead of telling Hunter I just said "nope! That's so weird!" And chuckled awkwardly.

As we flew out of the castle I struggled to stay in the air on my new staff. "Looks like you need some training." Hunter commented as I was trying to tame this thing.

"Actually that would be super helpful! Would you?"

"I mean we have nothing else to do except walk for the next 10 days so yeah, why not."
