13- Checking On Lilith

"I need you two to check on Lilith Clawthorne. She is currently staying in The Owl House with her sister. I need you two to make sure she isnt getting into any trouble, if she is... Well you know what to do." His last couple of words sent shivers up my spine.

I never knew Lilith very well in the Coven, she was nice to me... For the most part. After I got my promotion over her she kept calling me Bird Brain.

"Yes sir" Hunter said as he snapped me back to reality. "You are excused then. Leave immediatly." Hunter and I stood up and walked out the huge doors leading into the rest of the Castle.

"Did you know Lilith very well?" Hunter asked as we walked to our rooms to prepare to leave. "Not really, she trained me a couple of times when I was just a scout and she seemed to like me. Well until I got promoted over her then we barely talked and when we did she didnt seem like she liked me very much."

"She did go to your birthday party though."

"She did?"

"Yeah, I was actually surprised to see her there I didn't know you guys talked very much."

"We didn't im surprised she showed up too."

By then we had made it to our rooms. All I need to grab was my staff. I walked out of my room staff in hand waiting for Hunter when I heard loud crash coming from his room. I knocked on his door "Hunter? Are you ok?" I got kinda panicked when he didnt respond. "Hunter I'm coming in!" I opened the door and he was laying on the floor with his bookshelf on top of him. "Hunter?!" I yelled as I ran over and lifted the bookshelf off of him.

"Dang you're strong." he said out of breath. I blushed little as I propped his book shelf back against the wall.

"So you gonna tell me how that happened?" I said while helping him up. "I was trying to grab a book from the top of my shelf but uh.. I'm too short so I tried climbing on it and it fell on top of me." He said embarrassed. I rubbed the bridge of my nose "Why didn't you use your staff and levitate it down to you?"

He face palmed then said "I didn't think of that..." I laughed then wrapped my arms around him. "Well I'm just glad you are ok" he slowly returned the hug.

"Now come on! We have to get going before Belos finds out we are still here."

Hunter grabbed his staff and put his mask on. I did the same and we walked out of the castle.

We got to The Owl Lady's house with no problems, now the problem was how do we get inside. Hunter and I were hiding behind a bush, we saw as The Owl Lady and her Human walked out the doors off to who knows where. "Ok so since The Owl Lady and her Human are gone all that remains in the House that we know of is Lilith and the weird dog thing from the other day."

Hunter nodded. "Now the question is how do we get in?" I asked. "I have an idea, switch to civilian clothes. And follow my lead"

I used my staff like a magic wand and switched to a f/c sweater with black pants. Hunter did the same except he wore black overall with an long sleeved light blue shirt underneath.

We approached the owl house when the bird tube started talking. "who are you hoot? Eda doesnt take kindly to intruders hoot hoot!"

The bird looked threatened when hunter spoke up "We aren't intruders! We just want to see our great aunt lilith!"

I turned and looked at him with a 'what the heck are you talking about' face when he nudged me in the arm. "Oh! Yes! You see we miss her very dearly and wish to see her one last tIme before we... move to... the other side of... life?"
