It was my usual day, roasting Kate and Mat and running errands as the school's president. But something's off, I haven't heard all day from Daddy. It's past 10 AM but no calls nor a text message. He always tells me if he's busy from work and leave a voice mail. Maybe he is packed for today then. Suddenly my phone rang....
"Amber"
''Hi Grace"
"How's your day?" This is not her usual tone. Something's off.
"Something wrong Grace?" She knows I get her.
"Pack your things"
"Huh?"
"We're going to New York. It's your dad, he's hurt. Pretty bad"
''What do you mean Grace?! Where's daddy right now?" I stood up from my seat trembling in fear. It's that familiar feeling I have felt but this time it was worse. The fear of losing the only family I have. I know Dad don't skip his day without telling me what he's doing.
"Just pack up, we'll be leaving, don't worry about school, JM's parents helped out, they have agreed to give you special classes online."
"Okay, let me call JM first "
"You know and I pretty well your marriage is not good. Might as well remember what's more important right now"
"I know, Dad"
"Good, let's go. Plane leaves in an hour. I'll pick you up at 5"
"Got it"

Uncle Anthony had a heart attack during his business deals in New York. It's been two weeks and it's quite unusual that I haven't heard anything from Amber. Bubblegum as the Vice President took over her role immediately but everytime I try to ask them about Amber's situation, they cut me off. They are as arrogant as her but should they be happy, I am worried about her?
"Sir, may naghahanap po kay Madam. Parang nagtatrabaho sa eskwelahan niyo po"
"Okay ate Reese, I will be there in a jiffy"
"Hi Sir Montenegro, nandiyan po ba yung asawa niyo?"
"Hello Kuya Rick, nasa New York po. Inatake kasi c tito Anthony"
"Naku po, ipagdasal ko po na maging okay na yung ama niya"
"Bakit po kayo nandito?"
"Eh kasi po, meron kasi siyang inorder na pagkain sa panganay ko. Hindi siya ma contact eh kung i dedeliver na ba. Kaya pala. Okay lang ba sir, if samahan nyo ako."
"Saan po?"
"Ahhh, sa Claritas po ba yan manong Rick?"
"Huh? Claritas? Saan ba yan kuya Migs?"
"Yung palaging pinupuntahan ni Madam sir. Gusto nyo po ako nalang?"
"No, sasama ako"

Claritas, I have heard of this place. It's one of the rookie foundations in the Philippines if I can remember. The owners were not mentioned but I saw this on the internet how it offers free housing and education to the needy. It started in Poland and the foundation grew because of it's partners and yung compassionate purpose niya. And that is to take care of what was taken for granted. They have shelters for abandoned pets and homeless people. They give financial aide to the unforunate. What is Amber doing here all the time?
