Part 14

"Why you, anyone can stay in that chamber," Said Namjoon being angry as to why his Taetae hyungie needed to stay in the chamber.
"I clearly mentioned that the person in the chamber should be a family member. So I will go. It is simple, right? " Said Taehyung.
"No, umm...can we just keep a timer. I will have to complete it at a specific time. Please. " Pleaded Namjoon while closing his eyes and hands clasped together hoping that his hyung would agree. A minute was gone and there was still no response. So Namjoon slowly opened one eye to see what his hyung's reaction is. But what he saw made his eyes bigger in shock. Taehyung was taking pictures of him on his mobile when he was pleading with his eyes closed. But what shocked him was that his other hyungs were also taking pictures from different angles from where they were sitting.
"Stop taking pictures!! Shouted Namjoon angrily. All of the boys laughed while Namjoon looked angrily at each of them.
" Why all of you are not persuading Taetae hyungie to change his mind? "Asked Namjoon.
" Because we fight with death every day. We don't know when we will meet death. But we fight with it every day. That is how our profession is. And we enjoy it" said Yoongi in a serious tone.
"But.... But? How can you enjoy doing all this when you know that one of you can be in danger? " Asked Namjoon innocently.
"That is the reason we work hard. We can't see anyone of us getting hurt. So we try our best for each other than for ourselves. That's what makes us a better team. " Said Seokjin.
All of them smiled at Seokjin and Namjoon was looking at all of them trying to understand what they were talking about. And he started to talk to himself for the rest of the journey.

'Fight for each other. They fight for each other and take care of each other. But all of the people in this world care for themselves. I was taught like this before that The stronger always wins the mafia world. So why do they care for each other? And they are at the top. But I also care for them very much. I don't want any of them to be hurt. Hmmm....I decided that from now instead of my stupid brain I will follow my stupid heart. Everything will go right then.'

All of his thinking came to an end when the car stopped and he saw that they have arrived. Today Namjoon was feeling more nervous than yesterday. He was not sure whether it was because of the challenge or because of his hyung who is going to go inside the chamber. They walked inside with masks on and then Namjoon and Taehyung went into a different room and the others in the witness room where they can see and hear what is happening just like the previous challenge.
The room in which Namjoon and Taehyung entered was partitioned into two by a big glass sheet. But when Namjoon saw from the side where the vacuum chamber was present he was not able to see the other side. But when he moved to the side where he was going to go through a challenge he was able to see the chamber. He got confused.
"Why am I being able to see you but you can't see me perform? " Asked Namjoon.
"No reason. Just like that only " Said Taehyung while rubbing the back of his neck. Namjoon was not able to understand but did not ask further. Then the snakes were brought in and just as Taehyung said to Namjoon the amount of the snakes was so much that when they were released one could hardly see the tiles and color as they occupied the whole floor. All seemed restless and were moving upon each other.
"Why are they restless? Did you not take care of them? " Asked Taehyung in his deep, cold voice to the one who was the caretaker of all animals the Bangtan gang had.
"Sorry, but yesterday I had urgent work at home. So I did not feed them all. Please forgive me. " Said the man while bowing his head.
"It's okay. You can go" Said Namjoon because he knew that if the man stood for long he will only make Taehyung angrier.
Taehyung was about to say something when Namjoon said loudly " We are starting the challenge " and pushed Taehyung inside the chamber and sprinted off to the other side and started climbing the wall with the help of wooden blocks that were fitted on the wall. But it was difficult as the snakes were more alert as they were not fed and some wooden blocks were not drilled in properly and were coming out. It was not safe to stay on one wooden block for more time. There was a total of fifteen wooden boxes that one needs to use to cross the wall. But Namjoon's race against time was getting difficult. Because he was constantly seeing how Taehyung was doing. As the two minutes were still not over, Taehyung was walking like he was in a garden and Namjoon was amused by how calm Taehyung was. Namjoon was only in his fifth block when the buzzer rang indicating that the oxygen supply is cut off. This created panic in Namjoon's mind and he instantly saw how Taehyung was while he was moving to the next block. But what he saw surprised him. Taheyung was still walking leisurely like before. Namjoon fastened his speed and tried to reach the box which hold the key as quickly as possible.
While in the room where the five boys were watching Namjoon,
"I am not worried about Taehyung as he has a good lung capacity. But what do you think about what I said earlier? " Asked Seokjin.
"I agree to the matter. We need to ask Joonie about what is wrong with his body. But remember hyung that my intention and your intention are different. I am concerned about his health while you are about Byung-ho and that guy. " Said Jimin.
"Hmm... It's good then. Now I have a question. Will Namjoon be affected by poison if given now? " Asked Yoongi with curiosity.
"What type of question is that? Hyung doesn't bring any ideas of yours for Joonie. We won't let you touch him. " Said Jungkook while looking at Yoongi with anger.
"What... What do you think I was going to do to Joonie? Experiment on him by cutting and drying up his blood vessels !! " Said Yoogi while raising his voice.
"I bet a million if you can do what you just told. You... Should not tell them what you can't even do in your dreams. " Said Hoseok while all of them smiled while Yoongi was feeling embarrassed as to what he just said.
"Yahhh... Yahh.. Stop.... You idiot what are you going to do? " Shouted Seokjin while looking towards Namjoon and coming out of the witness room and walking quickly to the room where Namjoon and Taehyung were seen.
Seokjin saw that Namjoon was on the twelve blocks while Taehyung was still walking but very slowly and was leaning sometimes against the wall. He knows that Taehyung is trying to show Namjoon that he is okay. But Seokjin could clearly through Taehyung's mask that he was sweating profusely and will be unable to hold for a few more minutes. What shocked him was that Namjoon was ready to jump in between the slither of snakes. So he rushed to stop him but he was too late. Namjoon was already in the middle of the snakes. And he without giving a second thought ran among the snakes carefully trying not to step on them. But they were all over the place and time was running out so he just ran over to the box very quickly opened the glass box, grabbed the key, and dashed to the gate. He quickly opened the gate and as soon as he opened the air chamber opened again and he saw that Taehyung was breathing heavily. Namjoon was bleeding near his ankle but he was not paying attention to it. He ran towards Taehyung and slowly rubbed his back. The other boys rushed inside to see how both the boys were. Taehyung was leaning on the glass wall and breathing but he was more stable than before. But what shocked the others was that the e tiles where Namjoon was standing were bloody red and Namjoon was not paying attention to it. His eyes were filled with tears and but his lips were dry and chapped and he was looking paler than the white room.
"Sorry, hyung. I am really sorry. I should have done it quickly. I am sorry" Said Namjoon while snuffling.
"It's okay Joonie. You did a great job. You passed the challenge. " Said Taehyung while smiling.
The other boys surrounded them and started checking whether they are all right. The older ones rushed to see how Namjoon was doing while the other two checked on Taehyung. Namjoon's body was screaming that something is wrong with him but he was still standing and telling that he is alright. Seokjin looked at Yoongi with big eyes and a concerned face Yoongi understood what he was trying to say and he nodded. As soon as Yoongi gave his signal Seokjin took out a small needle from his side pocket and pierced it into Namjoon's hand while pretending to check him. Namjoon was busy telling Hoseok that he is fine. So he did not see what Seokjin was doing. As soon as the needle was poked into Namjoon's skin he started feeling dizzy and after a few minutes he fainted. The maknaes were shocked and the older hyungs were worried. They directly went towards the car ignoring everyone. Seokjin who was carrying Namjoon went in first and laid Namjoon on a car seat and was searching for something from a bag he kept for emergency use.
"What happened hyung? Are you okay? " Asked Jungkook.
"Huh?... Yeah, I am Okay" Said Seokjin, who was still searching for something. He then found the syringe and smiled a bit and then quickly inserted the syringe into Namjoon's hand.
"What are you doing? " Asked Jimin while being concerned.
"He needed that. I gave him the antidote to the snake bite. Also, we need to treat his legs as he has bites all over his legs" Said Seokjin.
"Ohh...he will be okay, right? " Asked Taehyung while holding Namjoon's hand who was still unconscious.
"Don't worry. The antidote is very effective." Said Seokjin while patting Taehyung's shoulders.
They all were worried but had different thoughts. The maknaes were worried that Namjoon fainted due to a snake bite while the older ones were worried that why Namjoon's body had no effect against poison. As soon as they reached home the maknaes without listening to their hyungs rushed inside and took the first aid and were ready with everything they needed for Namjoon's wounds. Seokjin who was carrying  Namjoon was told to walk quickly and he laid Namjoon on the sofa. Jimin was cleaning the wound while Taehyung was making bandages ready and Jungkook was making tea for everyone. The older ones were tensed but did not speak until the boys were settled and Namjoon was bandaged properly. Then they started telling what they did and how Namjoon is ineffective by poison.
"But why did you make him unconscious? " Asked Jungkook.
"If he is alright while still bitten by ten to twenty snakes, wouldn't it rise a suspicion among the other mafia groups," Said Seokjin.
"Ohhh.. You are right. So thoughtful of you" Said Jungkook while giving his bunny smile.
"But why is his blood different? What is the thing that he was eating from the chest box? " Asked Taehyung.
"We can't ask him. He already has the pressure to complete the challenges. " Said Hoseok.
All of them sighed and then nodded. Namjoon was still sleeping and they were not able to do anything about his condition. They just hope that Namjoon knows about it himself and is taking care of himself. But all they can do is wait. Wait till he is ready to tell and wait till he is official member of the Bangtan team.

Sorry for the late update. I have my practicals in the upcoming week. So I will post the stories on Saturday or Sunday. Thank you for reading my story.
