"Home-y?" ⚠️(?)

"WHY - WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO LET HIM STAY?"
Paper was downright confused. Letting that guy stay here, in the hotel, after everyone found out he had been working with that... with that woman- was a safety hazard itself.
"Where else does he have to go?! We've been all around this place, and there's no other homely places ANYWHERE, Paper. NONE."
Paper felt a little fed up. Yes, he liked Oj. But this idea? It was ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
"Oj- look, I get what you're trying to say- but have you met him?! He'll be fine."
Oj looked mad again, "SERIOUSLY, PAPER? I get that things are complicated- I do! But can you JUST hear me out?!"

Paper didn't want to listen anymore, he was tired, and it was late. He'd sort this out tomorrow.
"Look, Oj, we're sorting this out tomorrow, okay? I'm tired, and I can't deal right now. Goodnight."

Paper nudged Oj out of his room and closed the door a bit too hard.
He flopped down on his bed, and just sighed. He was really tired.
He drifted off to sleep.

Mephone stopped running, unwillingly really. He realised he was running so fast- and he tried to stop- but ended up face first in the ground instead. Apparently he had run directly into a tree branch at full speed. Embarrassing.
And he started to feel.. water drops? Oh. Oh no. Was it raining? It couldn't be raining.
Mephone groaned as he sat up, and the pain hit him.
He ran his finger across his face, and felt a crack. It didn't hurt too bad- but it was still painful.
The rain started to really pour.
Mephone couldn't last that long in the rain- it'd damage him bad. He wasn't the most waterproof phone.

He took cover under a tree and sat there for a moment, until the rain started to leak and drip through the leaves.
He couldn't really see, either. Considering how dark it was.
He suddenly felt quite dizzy, and he started to feel a burning sensation. It hurt a lot, but it went numb eventually.
That tree was all he had now.
It was clear the contestants didn't like the show, and there were only four of them left.
His co hosts left,
and his reputation amongst his... not really friends had been ruined. There wasn't really anything left.
He just squeezed close to the tree in hopes that it'll save him, somehow.
Everything started to look funny- and glitchy. Had the rain stopped? He couldn't really hear right.

But he heard a faint noise that sounded like a voice.

————

"Mephone!! Mephone!!" Oj called, as he ran through the overgrown forest.
He had to be close by- this should be the way he ran.
The weather forecast concluded that it'd rain, and goodness were they right.
It was pouring, and that wasn't good.
Oj pulled out the cork he got from season one to block out the rain. Getting diluted wasn't on his agenda.
Then, from behind the trees- he noticed something screen-like. He trudged over and tried to get a better look.
He saw it now- it was definitely Mephone, but he didn't look so good. His screen was wet and it was glitching out- it also had a crack about the size of a small arm at the top of it. It then occurred to Oj that Mephone was a mephone4 and they weren't really known for being waterproof.
Oj ran over to the glitchy phone and tried to lift him up.
He hoisted him over his shoulder and started jogging back to the Hotel. He couldn't exactly run right now. Mephone didn't seem very awake at the moment, although he made occasional noises that made him sound like he was in pain. Which, to he fair, he probably was.

Oj made it back to the Hotel in record time- Mephone still glitching out.
He barged through the front door, and thankfully everybody was asleep.
He dropped Mephone on a couch and went to go grab a towel- and some rice. Rice worked for water damage, right? Oj read that off the internet when he had dropped his tablet in a puddle.

Although when he came back with a bag of rice and a towel, he saw that Mephone was more conscious than he was, and looking around with a dazed expression. Why wouldn't Paper let him stay? Even for just a while, or when it rained, at least.
Mephone seemed to notice him and a big smile appeared on his face.
"O-Oj! Dude... Where am I right-right now..?"
Oj couldn't help but giggle a little. 'Dude', really? Hearing Mephone say that was a bit funny in itself.
"Mephone- You're at the Hotel- it was raining- and you're a little.. banged up. I'm just gonna fix you up or- something and let you stay the night, okay?"
Mephone gave a weak thumbs up, and then sank more into the couch.
Oj grabbed the towel and started to wipe off where the water was still dripping.
Even though Mephone was practically clawing at him and cackling.
Oj handed him the bag of rice and told him to hold it against him, or even put it in the pillow he slept on to help with the water damage. Oj wasn't exactly sure if it'd work- but surely it had to do something, right?
Mephone wasn't exactly cooperative- Oj couldn't blame him. He was mumbling something about being disliked at the Hotel- and that he 'should be banned' or something.
Oj found a spot that was more hidden under the stairs that no one really used too often. It was the other set of stairs that everyone went up and down. "Look... you can stay here until I get.. another room, okay?"
Oj left Mephone with a blanket and that pillow- and trusted him enough that he wouldn't run off.

Oj then locked all of the entrances and closed the windows, and then went up the elevator to his own room.

There was a lot that still needed to be done, though.

———

Mephone couldn't help but wonder why Oj let him stay. He even gave him blankets and pillows. And rice..?
Everything still felt strange, but maybe Oj was his friend.
Or maybe he did it out of pity.
His hosting skills were extremely flawed- and no way would Oj want to be his friend.
Mephone just laid down, and stared up at the .. stair-ceiling.
It still hurt.

He just wanted Mepad and Toilet to come back.
Why did she lie?
