Thundering music vibrated against the sticky bar, the drinks sitting atop the surface shaking to its rhythm. Flashes of neon lights reflected off the faces of the depraved that frequented this place. I sighed, running my fingers through my hair while taking a sip of my whiskey. Somehow, I felt out of place here even though the occasional woman would come by to assure me I belonged.

Clubs were never my thing, but I did go to a few to satisfy my curiosity in my college days. But now the thought of grinding against sweaty strangers disgusted me to my core. Unlike the clubs I had visited before, this club had a hint of class as if it belonged only to the rich and wealthy. Jade's presence here only solidified my theory that I was stepping into an unknown realm familiar only to her and the rich friends she surrounded herself with.

I leaned against the bar, eyeing Jade intensely as I often did. Whether I did it because of my job or because she looked stunning, I don't know. Jade flashed me a quick glance before turning her attention back to Ha-rin. She sat on a large velvet loveseat, her bare legs crossed over the slit of her silky, red two-piece dress. Her dress top tied at the front, making her breasts look even larger than they were. She had styled her hair in waves, half of it pulled back to show pristine diamonds decorating her ears.

Although she always dressed elegantly, this was completely different from the business casual clothing she often wore. Even if she wasn't instantly recognizable, one look at her would immediately tell you she was way above everyone on this planet. I cursed myself for even having the slightest ego to think I was good enough for her.

I clutched my glass tightly in my hand as I noticed a group of men approaching them. Ha-rin greeted one of them, indicating they knew each other while the rest took their seats around them. One man in particular caught my attention.

He was fairly attractive with a modest build and height that almost matched my own. His black hair was parted down the middle, hanging over his forehead. His hair was a little longer in the back, reaching the nape of his neck, and he had smooth, tan skin. Jade spoke to him with a charming smile, moving her hair over her shoulder. The man placed a thumb on her cheek, and I gripped the glass so hard, I was on the brink if shattering it.

"Can I buy you a new one?" A voice said next to me.

I turned my attention away from Jade to see a tall brunette woman taking her place on a bar stool.

"I'm good," I said, slamming the glass onto the bar.

"Aww. Are you sure? You can have whatever you want. I'll get you the most expensive whiskey money can buy. I'm Hailey, by the way," she said with a flirty tone.

"Your money doesn't impress me," I said with a deep, cold voice.

"Well, you're obviously impressed with someone's money," she said, rolling her eyes in the direction of Jade.

"I don't give a shit about her money, either."

"Okay, chill. I was just making a joke. You're a little uptight for someone attending the hottest club in the city. I've never seen you in here before. How'd you get in?" She asked curiously, placing her chin on her palms.
