A couple of weeks later, after the holidays everyone was back at school and the girls were starting their day with the first two periods Maths and isiZulu. Hlengiwe, Genevieve, Delilah, Lesego and Sinenhlanhla were at their lockers.
"Let's go to maths where we will die of work and exercises," Delilah said
"Haha, I have Maths Literacy." Sinenhlanhla laughed
"Shush, at least I'm not doing word problems." Delilah laughed
"Let's just go to class, see you in Zulu," Sinenhlanhla said
"I'll see you at the break because I have Afrikaans," Delilah said
When they sat down in their seats the teacher came in.
"Where is Mrs Hlongwane?" Hlengiwe asked
"I heard she is sick and she has monkeypox, so this teacher is filling in, I think Mr Mbongeni," Sinenhlanhla said
"How's it going with Justin?" Hlengiwe asked
"It's okay, I'm just trying to give him space," Sinenhlanhla said
"Why? Sne he likes it when you worry, now you seem not to care like it doesn't make sense." Hlengiwe scoffed
"It's not like I'm on a break," Sinenhlanhla said
"Call him, I heard from Dominic that he's been really angry these days," Hlengiwe said
"From what?" Sinenhlanhla asked
"I don't know, Dom doesn't even know because he won't talk to anyone," Hlengiwe said
"If you're implying that the only person he will talk to is me then forget it," Sinenhlanhla said
"They have a basketball game tonight, try to talk to him," Hlengiwe said
"I will see," Sinenhlanhla said
Sinenhlanhla got a call from Dominic as they were talking but Hlengiwe picked it up and answered.
"Yes, babe?" Hlengiwe smiled blocking Sinenhlanhla with her arm
"Yeah, yeah, no Sne will talk to him, she said tonight is fine and she misses him a lot," Hlengiwe said
"No! I never said that, give the phone here." Sinenhlanhla smiled grabbing her phone
"Hey, dawg what's up?" Sinenhlanhla said
"What? What happened!?" Sinenhlanhla asked
"Oh my goodness," Sinenhlanhla said covering her mouth
After the call, Hlengiwe asked for answers.
"What's wrong? Is Dominic okay?" Hlengiwe asked
"It's not that, it's Justin, he got hurt during a game, dislocated his shoulder and they tackled him, breaking his arm, you will never guess who did it, someone on his team," Sinenhlanhla said
"Brayden?" Hlengiwe said
"No, actually Raul because he didn't pass the ball to him," Sinenhlanhla said
"Okay when we go, at half-time or even before the game starts you have to get through to him," Hlengiwe said
"Okay, I will, we took an oath to be there for each other but it's just I want to give him some space, I don't want to be a burden," Sinenhlanhla said
"Then let's change and you will talk to him," Hlengiwe said pushing her
"We still have Zulu," Sinenhlanhla said
"Oh, but you know what I mean," Hlengiwe said
"Thank you for being so patient with me," Sinenhlanhla said
