The tavern was quiet and peaceful, a few couples were scattered across the room, whispering in hushed tones to each other, talking about anything and everything. The warm light above your head flickered as you sat there in silence, neither of you knowing what to say.
"What happened to your mask by the way? you never wear it anymore, did you lose it?" you asked, wanting to break the awkward silence while also wanting to know what happened to it.
"Nope, I still have it. I don't wear it because it is supposed to be intimidating, and I want you to feel at ease with me," he explained as he took a sip from his drink.
"I feel at ease alright. Looking at your pretty face," You smirked as he almost spat the drink out from shock.
"Don't do that, I don't want to die choking on food," you laughed as he complained, his cheeks were dusted red. He looked so cute all flustered. It made you feel like teasing him more.
"What do you want to do after we are done with the food?" you asked him as he finally regained his composure.
"I was thinking about walking around the market. We should probably restock our resources, and who knows? Maybe we will stumble upon something interesting," you were definitely stumbling upon an interesting thing. He gave himself away.
"Nice, I can't wait," you cheekily smiled, thinking about ways to mess with him some more.
Once you finished the food, you headed down to the market district. It was extremely crowded and full of life. There seemed to be some sort of celebration going on, which was weird considering that there was a war going on right now. Guess life really doesn't stop for anyone.
Your mind wandered to Carlos yet again, he would definitely be joining the weird dancing group if he was here. Be the second-hand embarrassment he always was. Probably call you from the middle of the crowd at the top of his lungs and bring all the attention to you.
He would definitely pick a fight with the guy standing in front of you with a woman sitting on his shoulder for blocking the view. Especially since they were on the first row. And then he would definitely run around the festival like a crazy maniac and buy so much food for the two of you only to throw it up later.
Crazy bastard
"Hey, what's wrong?? Why are you crying?" you hadn't realized that while thinking about him, you started crying.
"Nothing, something went inside my eyes," you lied as you rubbed your tears out. It feels like you can't move on. No matter how hard you try, he is always there in the little things. He is always there, in your heart, in your mind, in your soul.
You are always missing him.
"Do you know how to dance?" you turned to look at König, who just shook his head no. Confused by your question.
"Neither do I. Let's go dance," you mischievously smiled at him, and you could see the sweat beads running down his temple.
"If you really want to... Okay," he stammered, and you felt your heart skip a beat. You grinned at him before dragging him to the random group of people dancing. His height made him stand out so much that the commentator mentioned him.
He tried to lower himself to blend in the crowd to no avail. You held both of his hands and placed them on your waist.
"Look at me, forget other people," you said to him as he looked at you when you held his hands. You placed your hands on his chest, his shoulders being too far."Okay..." he whispered, his eyes stopped shaking once you made eye contact.
"Let's just try whatever the people around us are doing. I'm sure it will be fun," you reassured him, and he squeezed your waist in return, pulling you closer to him. It was a slow song, and the steps seemed easy enough to do.
It didn't take long before it felt as if only the two of you were left. His greyish-blue irises looked like diamonds as they glowed in the light in contrast to his dilated pupils. What was that shit they were saying? Eyes are the door to the soul or something? If that was true, König's soul must be made of fine jewels and tranquillity.
It seemed like he was also lost in thought, he was looking through you as he kept his hands on your waist. The song ended after some time, and people started to leave the dancing area.
"See? It wasn't THAT bad, I reckon you lowkey enjoyed it too," you chuckled as you let go of his chest, but he kept his hands on your waist. Instead of letting you go, he pulled you in for a hug.
"Of course I did. It's with you," he placed his chin on top of your head. As he held you close.
"You know, I thought you were going to kiss me. I am disappointed," you joked as you wrapped your arms around his torso.
"Here? In front of all these people?" he asked, and you looked up at him.
"When then?" You teased, and he looked around for a second before leaning down and placing a quick peck on your lips. His face being as red as a tomato now.
You beamed at him, grabbing his shirt and pulling him down for another one. A slightly longer one.
"Are you happy now?" he asked once you pulled back.
"Very,"
