Captured

After a while of searching I find a safe enough spot to rest in, it's a small cave just outside the Metkayina boarders. The bioluminescent glow of the surrounding coral lulls me to a dreamless sleep.

The sensation of course sand scraping against my delicate skin causes my eyes to fly open, I take no time in thrashing around against my kidnapper.

"It's alive! You said it was dead! Help him hold it down!" Voices shout. I hiss and claw at the Metkayina that's dragging me by the tail. They avoid my advances and pull me further away from the safety of the ocean.

My slimes skin making it more difficult as their hands struggle to grip onto my wiggling body.

"Don't let it bite you! Water women have venom in their fangs!" A man who is clearly a hunter yells, he flips me over onto my belly and holds the back of my queue.

A painful groan escapes my lips and I whimper out loud, trying to make me seem weak. A long strip of seaweed is shoved into my mouth and tied up around the back of my head, not stopping me from talking, but muffling my voice just enough that my manipulation isn't effective.

Spear heads aim themselves right at me. Begging me to step out of line. I stare back with wide doe eyes as they approach.

His big teal hands grab my forearms and crosses them behind my back. Successfully hindering me defenceless.

"Gather around young hunters, you see this? This thing. These creatures picks off the weakest in our clan. Then, it drags them to the depths of the ocean and rips them limb from limb. This one here looks to be in its teenage years." The man tries to scare the young hunters that surround us.

"What are you going to do with it?" I turn my head over my shoulder to try and see who asked the question.

A boy, who looks around the same age as me was the one who spoke up. A wave of authority crashes through me as his cold blue eyes burn holes into me. Raven coloured hair sits on the top of his head wrapped tightly in a bun, his queue swaying behind him.

Judging from his Akula tooth necklace he's someone important.

The clan leaders son.

Not important to my clan but to his since an Akula isn't a worthy kill.

Or he just has a big ego. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out.

"It's dangerous, so we need to get rid of it." I roll my eyes. I'm really getting tired of the 'it' talk. I'm clearly female. Not an it—

The man yanks my queue back and a sharp knife presses against my throat. "Et-go!" I try to tell them to let go but my voice comes out muffled from the gag.

The hand around my hair loosens for a second before regaining the tight grip. "Shut up! Homicida!"

"We take it back, bring it to my Father. He'll make the decision." The boy demands.

"How will we carry it? The tail is twice the size of us." A woman hunter asks, her braids flying around her face.

"We'll need multiple people to carry it, and it'll  have to be knocked out too. It would never let us near it conscious." I hiss and bare my teeth as one man steps closer.

My eyes widen as a fist swings up before coming back down on my head, hard.

Then, black.

Aonung's POV

I watch as the water woman flops back onto the sand, unresponsive.

I nudge it with my foot a few times to make sure it's fully out. "Okay, you there," I point to a boy whose younger than me, "I need to you run to the village and tell them to prepare a place to hold this creature. On land. Okay?"

The little boy nods and sprints off.

After the boy leaves, I attempt to pick the water woman up. The slime coating along its skin makes it hard to get a good grip.

The other hunters find it hard too, they drop its tail down and we all stand back. I put my hands on my hips, just above my loincloth as I think of a solution.

"Roll it onto its back," I instruct, I point to a few hunters, "you three, hold its tail and I'll get the top half. Hook your arms around it so it doesn't slip out away from you." They nod and spring into action.

I pick the top half of the creature up bridal style, making sure its arms are in my sights just in case it wakes up.

My eyes travel higher and I quickly avert my gaze, my cheeks feeling hot.

It's chest had become exposed during the tussle. Perky breasts on display.

It's not my fault, they looked at me first.

While balancing her weight on my knee, I grab a thick loc of dark black hair. Hastily covering her exposed parts while trying my best not to look.

My best could have been better...

"Aonung! Step away from it!" My Father yells, the others drop her limp body down to the ground in an instant at his orders, the sensation waking her from her slumber. I cringe as I feel her stir in my arms.

Vida's POV

My tail slaps against the hard ground, gravity doing its job. I growl out as the arms around me tighten, forcing me to stay still.

My scaly appendage whips around in fright as I am locked in place. Two Metkayina warriors leap onto my tail to stop the panic. "Do something Tonowari!" The clans Tsahik shouts.

A spear against my neck makes me still. The clan leader, Tonowari, looks down at me with an unreadable expression.

He tilts his chin up at me. "What is your name?" He all but demands.

I try to look scared, like a little girl. "Vida." The name escapes in muffles around the seaweed.

"Well, beeda—"

"—Veedah." I correct his mistake.

He huffs, pressing the blade harder against my throat. Not falling for my good girl act. "Drop the act, I know how water women are, shapeshifters, murderers, ferals."

I try to lunge at him -forgetting that I'm not currently in my element- out of the boys arms.

I break free of the boys grip and I -once again- drop to the ground. My hands fly up to my face to take off the gag but again I'm overpowered by the fifty Na'vi surrounding me.

"My amily will ome or me." I grit out the lie through my clenched teeth, as people bind me to a post.

"No one is coming for you." Tonowari says harshly before blindfolding me. Taking away two of my most important senses, sight and touch.

I know no one is coming for me, once a clan member has been separated, they're on their own.

Abandoned, left to fight their battles alone.
