Chapter 9 "Yami Yami no mi"

Xynie POV

It's been exactly five months and three weeks ever since that incident that day happened...

"Ugh....I hate this feeling inside my stomach.." I groaned and hugged myself tighter crouching down

Marco looked up to me folding his newspapers to the side and raised his eyebrows teasingly

"What kind of feeling is it-yoi?" Smirking to himself

I glared at him and sighed rubbing my temple and ruffling my hair

"It's a feeling of guilt isn't it-yoi?"

"It's just... Marco I swear to Pops it was an accident-"

Marco chuckled and patted my head looking down at me since he was taller

Way taller..

He playfully huffed and ruffled my hair up more than it already was

"Go easy on yourself Xyn, Izou nor me or even everybody else on this ship would ever blame you for what happened-yoi, you didn't mean to do it and everybody can see your true intentions...even pops"

Nervous, I gulped my saliva down and reluctantly asked him

"What do you think my true intentions were?"

"Hm.....well...I say you wanted to grow stronger not to harm intentionally but to protect those whom you care for...isn't that right?"

[Flashback]

"Eyes on me Xy! You have to focus otherwise you'll give your opponent the chance to take you down!"

I couldn't focus all too well, I've been feeling something in my stomach for a while

and it's been bugging me off, Izou-san kept on attacking me with a wooden sword

Struggling to keep up with his phase I was starting to sweat, my heartbeat was faster than normal and I was heavily breathing

My eyes looking around all over the place to look for something...

But I don't really know what I was looking for

until he completely disarmed me throwing my wooden sword to the side, before I could even use the actual weapon I choose I had to train properly so that I wouldn't hurt myself or the others accidentally

So we started off with a wooden stick

And just as he attack me that's where reality hits me and I stopped overthinking

blood streaming down my head I cupped my face and saw blood all over me

I figured this was normal for my training so I didn't mind it, Izou however noticed and created a frown on his face

he was quick to rush to my side and asked if I was alright

I smirked and looked at Izou and rhetorically asked

"I thought you said we shouldn't let our gaurds down?"

In a quick shock Izou was about to move away from me until I suddenly punched him on the stomach making him fly away to the barrels filled with sake

He coughed up blood all over the place which got me guilty
