I did not move for the whole journey to God knows where. I was almost holding my breath. I was quite shocked. I could not believe Eren was going to kill everyone outside our island. The boy with hopeful eyes that we knew was definitely gone forever.

I was still shaken when we arrived at our destination: the harbour.

The harbour was a place where we could make trades with non-enemies nations. This was where the Azumabito clan was located. They were the principal engineers who helped us develop our island with their modern technologies.

My captors led me to the building where the Azumabito were. They threw me in a room without windows and locked me in.

I banged on the door, calling for help. Unfortunately, there was no response.

I could not do anything and I was afraid to think. Too many things had happened in a short period of time.

I was terribly sad. But then, my sorrow got replaced by anger. I got up and started kicking and punching everything there was in this room. I was screaming my rage out. Tears were flowing down my cheeks, my throat was hurting from all the yelling.

I did not care about showing myself like this. I just wanted the feeling I had in me to leave.

After a while, I calmed down. I was so tired of everything that I fell asleep next to the bed, on the floor.

I got woken up by what seemed to be explosions. Or huge steps.

I instantly got on my feet, ready to defend myself. My survival instinct kicked in for sure. Because I could not find any ounce of will to live inside me. Not without Levi...

Suddenly, the door opened and one of my captors appeared.

"Let's go, Mrs Ackerman." he said.

Two others cuffed me and led me to the meeting room where all the Azumabito engineers were seated. There was a dead body bleeding on the floor.

Floch was standing in the room, all geared up and delivering a speech.

"Just look at that steam. I doubt History has ever changed in one day as drastically as today. And of course, we will make no exception for Hizuru. Every last trace of its civilization will be wiped clean, and it will be reborn as new land. Freed from all its trouble."

Kiyomi Azumabito was sitting in silence, her eyes closed. I was pretty sure she was thinking the same thing I was: what a bunch of bullshit!

Floch rested his hands on her shoulders. She slowly opened her eyes and winced, disgusted by this physical contact. He continued what he had started to say.

"All of you just have to contribute to this island. And fortunately, Hizuru's best engineers are here, after all."

He glanced at the dead man on the floor being taken away before continuing.

"If you don't want to lose any more of your men, you should make sure they do as they are told."

The lady did not let that speech shake her.

"I hate to interrupt you when you are in such a good mood but what is this change you are so happy about?"

Floch stepped away, intrigued. She continued.

"If you think Paradise is safe now, then I pity you. All you are doing is making your world smaller. The killing will surely continue as it always has."

Floch sighed in annoyance and turned his back on her.

"I appreciate your warning. And yes, I have started to feel the same way." he said.
