Maya stood on the sidewalk in front of the coffee shop, anxiously waiting for her friends to arrive. It was a warm summer day, and the streets were bustling with people going about their business. She looked down at her phone, checking the time once again. They were supposed to meet at 10:00 am, but it was already 10:15 and no one had shown up yet.

Just as Maya was starting to worry that she had gotten the time wrong, she saw a familiar figure walking towards her. It was Ryan, her childhood friend who she had grown up with in this very town. Ryan grinned and waved as he approached her.

"Hey, Maya! Sorry I'm late. Traffic was insane this morning," he said, giving her a quick hug.

Maya smiled, relieved to see him. "No worries. I was starting to think I had the wrong time."

As they chatted, two more figures appeared on the street. It was Daniel and Sofia, the couple who had just moved to the town a few months ago. Maya was thrilled when she found out they were moving here, and they had quickly become good friends.

"Hey guys!" Maya called out as they approached. "Glad you could make it."

"Wouldn't miss it for the world," Sofia said, giving Maya a hug.

Daniel nodded in agreement, flashing his trademark smile. "Yeah, Maya's events are always the highlight of our week."

As they made their way into the coffee shop, they chatted excitedly about the upcoming weekend plans and the latest gossip in town. Emily, the last member of their friend group, was running late as usual, but they didn't mind. They knew she would show up eventually.

Maya looked around the table at her friends, feeling grateful for their presence in her life. They were all so different, with unique personalities and interests, but they had formed a close bond over the years. Maya was excited to see what adventures and challenges they would face together in the coming days.
