going back and bad news

first person pov

kiri cried in my arms. I could feel how much she was worried about spider. i knew he was a tough guy but kiri didn't know if he would be okay. "mawè sister calm" i said trying to soothe her tears.

I got off the back of neteyam's ikran and helped my sister off of our fathers, she walked slow with a heavy heart and all i could do was tell her i was there for her. i walked with her for a short time then went to my family tent. when i got to the tent i grabbed my flight visors. i held the purple head piece in my hands remembering all of the things i have done wearing these. mine had detachable feathers that were purple and was usually a sign of war. i hadn't taken the feathers off since the war started because i would fight for my home and i would fight for the place the all mother intended for me to fight for.

i put my visors on and walked over to my bow stand and grabbed my bow. i made this bow with my dad. it was one of my most prized possessions.

it had beads on the top to symbolize my father. the beads and rope were braided into his hair when he went into battle against the sky people on toruk.i walked out of my tent and ran for where the ikran were. kiri was feeding them when i made an ikran call and nara came to me. kiri rushed over " what are you doing" "i have to go back" i made tsaheylu with nara and flew off.

"steady girl" i said to nara i went into a dive and landed in some trees. i got off of her and patted her on her neck for a well done. she let out a pur and i jumped down from the trees and made my way to the old shack. i knew i wasn't supposed to be here. i looked at the suit on the ground and saw two arrows sticking out of it. i tilted my head and my ears pinned back. i walked forwards to the shack and i jumped in through a smashed window. i noticed one of the links was smashed in most likely from that big suit. i didn't know the man's name that drove that suit but i knew he was spiders father. i also knew that he waged war on the navi and my dad fought him but my mother finished him off. i hopped back out of the shack and went to the suit. i looked all over it and only saw a skeleton with no head. vines growing over the metal but i saw something out of the corner of my eye, it looked like a tag of some sort but i moved the vines to the side and saw a name. Quaritch, that was his name. now i have a name to my target. i grabbed the two arrows from his first body and put them next to mine. i walked further into the forest and i saw a nice spot to lie. i enjoyed the sounds of the forest, the viper wolf calling, thanators too and distant ikran calls. i stood up and grabbed my bow and walked back to nara.

"where the hell have you been" dad yelled " i see you father but i just went out for a ride and i lost track of time." my dad nodded and went back to the tent and i followed close by. I got in the tent and set my bow on its stand and took my visor off and set it down. " go elsewhere please y/n" my dad said. i nodded slowly and walked out. but i saw tuk and kiri kneeling at the side of the tent. i looked back to make sure my mom or dad were not looking and quickly dashed to where they were. neteyam and lo'ak were close behind me and i pressed my ear to the tent as tuk looked under to see what was happening. "this thing, this quaritch,whatever he is he can walk right in here, he can walk right under eywas nose." dad said, " this is our family this is our home-" dad cut her off " this is our family, it's about our little ones" "i can not. you can not ask this, i cannot leave my people. I will not." mom said angry "he's hunting us he's hunting our family." dad replied "you can not ask this! the children all they've ever known is the forest, THIS IS OUR HOME!" moms words were spitting venom "he had our children, he had them under his knife." dad said his voice full of worry. " my father gave me this bow as as he lay dying ,he said protect the people" moms voice started to break " Your toruk makto!" mom said crying "this will protect the people! quaritch has spider that kid knows everything. he knows our whole operation" kiri lo'ak and neteyam and i all looked at one another we all didn't know what to say or even think "he can lead them right in here" dad said in the background i pressed my ear back to the tent and heard dad say " look i got nothing. i got no plan" dads voice became strong " but i can protect this family. that i can do!" mom cried silently with a little sniffle coming out " but i know one thing, were ever we go, this family is our fortress" dad said the last thing in the sentence in a whisper. mom and dad sighed out. i couldn't believe what i had just heard, my cheeks felt hot and my eyes started to pour tears. kiri hugged me along with tuk and i hugged them back and soon neteyam and lo'ak joined in the hug. i didn't know what to think, what to expect, all any of my family has known is the forest. this is where we were born were our ancestors fought, we're buried, and even killed where me and kiri's mom died, and now because of some man, we all had to leave. i cried more tears not knowing what was going to happen next.
