AU where all the characters are some kind of human-like cryptid or magical creature
hopes peak academy, on the outside, it's a prestigious school for talented students, but on the inside, it's a safe haven for not-quite-human teens and their families
the school was founded by a warlock named izuru kamakura, who wanted to build a safe environment for people like him to not only get a proper education but live peacefully without being looked down upon or even hurt for their non-human heritage
humans hated the school because of this, who knows what these dangerous creatures could do if they were allowed to get a good education and a comfortable life?!
rumors were spread, articles were written, graffiti was sprayed on the school walls, students were being attacked when they were off campus, protests were held, riots took place, molotov's were thrown, it was terrible
so izuru and the rest of the witches, wizards, and warlocks in the staff cast a spell over the whole city to make them think it was just a normal highschool
they sent letters to the students telling them not to tell anyone about how the school was only for non-humans and to say it was for especially talented students instead and to take on the title of "ultimate", saying it was for their own safety
overtime everyone forgot about that part, all the students that went there are now dead or just plain forgot because of dementia or something, the only way you would know about its true intentions now is if you went there yourself, either as a faculty member or as a student, but you won't be allowed in if your human
as time went on, the school needed funding, mostly for the basic needs of the students, stuff like sunscreen for the vampires, flea medicine for the werewolves, spell books for students with magic, greenhouses for students with plant abilities, pools for the marine students, and proper food for those he didn't eat what humans ate, which was basically everyone
so they created the reserve course, a way for(humans) students who didn't have a special talent to enroll in hopes peak as long as they pay an ungodly amount of money to the school
it turned out to be a success, funding started pouring in like water that had been trapped behind a dam as parents enrolled their children into the hopes peak reserve course for the prestige and good education
and so here we are, as the school welcomes a new wave of cryptids and magic users into hopes peak academy, thinking they were there because of their talents, but actually there because of their not-quite-human heritage
