Godbur au.
This is based on an idea I had a while ago that went along the lines of
"What if Wilbur fell in love with a mortal and so XD punished the mortal And then punished him?"

So enjoy!

Also as Death's son,
He can see the spirits of dead animals and humans.

Also if you confused
ʛůລ𝓻ð𝖏ລກ--XD
൱⚈ŧћ巳𝓻--Kristem
⟆𝖏ﮑŧ巳𝓻--Drista
⟆⚈ກ--Wilbur

A warm hum rang through the forest.

It'd been years since the god had been allowed to step foot on
the earth once again.

ʛůລ𝓻ð𝖏ລກ had been very strict with his punishment. His decision had been a shock to him considering ʛůລ𝓻ð𝖏ລກ had allowed for ൱⚈ŧћ巳𝓻 to marry his father.
But then again, His father was her angel.

How was he punished?
I hear you ask.

Well as previously suggested,
He'd been locked in the heavens.
His access to the human realm was temporarily cut off to stop him from seeing the beloved mortal.

And he'd been forced to wear a stupid veil to hide his face from the world.
ʛůລ𝓻ð𝖏ລກ had called it a
"safety precaution" so no mortal would befall the same fate John had.

He hadn't been told what had happened to John though.
All he knew was he wouldn't recognize him, as warned by ⟆𝖏ﮑŧ巳𝓻.

Though he probably never would considering how cruel ʛůລ𝓻ð𝖏ລກ could be.

His eyes closed as he allowed his feet to guide him mindlessly through the woodland area.
He knew where he was going.
He'd leaned the way long ago.

Opening his eyes,
He was met with the ruins.

He wasn't sure what these ruins once were, but simply that they were.
It was a funny thing to say really.

His eyes glanced around for any mortal before removing the mask.

A smile engraved itself onto his features as he caught sight of the animals approaching him.
He lowered himself onto the floor.
Gloved hands gesturing for the creatures to approach and XD, how his heart warmed at the way they moved without hesitation.

A crow set itself down on his shoulder,
Icarus.
Wilbur could tell instantly.

See, he'd taken it upon himself to name every one of his father's crows.
And how'd he

track of said names?
To put it simply, he tied a ribbon with a name on it to each of the crows' legs.
It had proven itself to be quite useful as it had become a permanent holder for letters he and his father would send one another.

He watched as the animals carefully snuggled up to him.
Warmth and comfort flowed through the air between them all.

The god allowed his eyes to close,
His head tilted towards the ground as he opened his mouth.
A beautiful melody poured itself out from within the confines of his lips as he sang.
