Jay's POV
The library was now my safe haven. I searched there everyday, leafing through hundreds of books and scrolls, desperate to bring Nya back.
Without my Yang, life was nothing. This had always been my greatest fear, and now it had happened.
I continued my search, and just as I was about to lose hope, I found a book.
The Secrets Of Vengestone, by The First Spinjitsu Master, illustrated by Quanish The Elder.
"What the fu** is this?" I whispered to myself. I recalled our encounter with the possible vengestone buyer, Ms. Demeanor, and I realized this could be of use to us.
I also recalled Master Wu telling us that vengestone had "very few practical purposes". Maybe this book wouldn't say that. We could easily find out who the buyer was!But that wasn't why I was here. I wanted to bring Nya back, what was I doing?!
As I reached up to put the book in the shelf, my hand slipped and accidentally pulled a suspicious black covered book off of it.
Startled, I picked it up, and, as I was placing it back, I noticed a secret lever in the bookshelf.
Curious, I pulled on it, and I heard a loud creaking sound and I saw a secret door in the wall bang open.
I rushed to the door, taking The Secrets Of Vengestone with me. Inside there was a spinning round fountain, except it had no water in it. On the wall I saw a sign saying "Book Podcasting Station", and there was a slit in the fountain the size of the book.
I waited for a moment before slipping the book into the slit, and I was thrown back as it exploded.
Luckily the book was undamaged, and that's when I heard a voice.
"The Secrets Of Vengestone, by the First Spinjitsu Master, illustrated by Quanish The Elder. Turning book into playable podcast now."
So it had turned the book into a one hour podcast. I was not prepared to listen, until I heard the table of contents...
"Table of contents. Chapter One: Making Armor. Chapter Two: Preventing Elemental Reactions From Working. Chapter Three: Getting Rid Of A Merged Elemental Power..."
That was all that I needed to hear. I listened to the podcast and knew exactly what to do.
Kai's POV
The house was quiet. It was late afternoon, and me and Skylor were sitting at the dining table, eating chocolate crunchy cereal for a snack.
Suddenly I heard a scream. "Oh my god! Oh my god!" It sounded like Jay.
"Kai! Kai! Kaaaaaaaaaaaaai!"
I saw Jay rushing out of the library, smiling his head off. He had a book in his hands and he was screaming at the top of his lungs.
Everyone heard his screams, so they all came downstairs: Lloyd, Cole, Vania, Wu, Misako, Mom, and Dad.
"What the heck is going on?" Lloyd asked. That's when Jay came out of nowhere and wrapped me in a hug.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" I gasped for air as he almost choked me with his arms. "What is it, Jay?"
He let go of me, and I took in an exasperated breath.
"You're a blacksmith, right, Kai?" Jay asked me. He was smiling his head off still.
"Obviously!" I yelled in reply.
"Can--can you make some armor, like, your size? Out of vengestone?" he asked.
"What?!" everyone gasped.
"Vengestone? What on earth, Jay?" I squinted at him.
"Yes, vengestone," he replied. "I need it quick. By tomorrow morning."
"Okay, Jay, but why?" I asked.
"I found this book called The Secrets Of Vengestone. It's amazing. Especially Chapter Three. Okay, Kai! I need it fast, so go make it now!" he yelled.
"Alright," I said, sighing theatrically.
"And, guys," Jay continued. "We're all going to Ninjago Harbor tomorrow at 6:00am. Skylor and Lloyd, bring your oxygen masks and swimwear because we're going diving."
"What?!" I gasped. "Skylor and Lloyd? Why can't they stay? And what, Jay? Diving, what the fudge?" I was careful not to swear in front of four adults and one babyish Lloyd.
"Just go with it, Kai," Jay pleaded. "Make the armor now and I need it by tonight." and with that, he walked off.
Soon everyone shrugged it off and left, but Lloyd stayed.
"Why did he ask me to go with him?!" Lloyd yelled dramatically. "And Skylor? What does he need Skylor for?"
"Calm down, angry bird," I said, and then I finished the last bite of my cereal.
"Yeah, Lloyd. Just go with it, like he said," Skylor agreed. We did a little fist bump.
"Oh, fine," continued Lloyd, ever the actor. "Let's do this."
Eventually me and Skylor finished eating, and the three of us went to the blacksmith shop, Four Weapons, and started making vengestone armor of my size.
It took us all night, and when we walked back to the monastery, Lloyd and Skylor ran upstairs to go to bed, and I went to Jay's room, which he had now claimed again, to give it to a very pleased Jay.
I had no idea what he was up to. But I had a pretty good feeling about this.
