Jay's POV
"What are we even doing, Jay?!" Kai screamed at me.
"Just go with it, Kai! Who cares?" Cole screamed at him. "Stop being so annoying!"
This mission was starting on a bumpy road. Kai and Cole glared at each other, and when Cole walked away Kai looked like he was gonna cry but he didn't.
I had invited Lloyd and Skylor with me because they were related to Nya (I mean they both are her best friends), and I didn't invite Kai because it was a surprise for him.
"You alright, Kai?" I asked him. He looked like he was fighting back tears.
"Yeah--Yeah, I'm fine," he replied, gritting his teeth.
"H--Hey, Kai, it's okay," I said, patting his shoulder. "Don't worry about it. Just go with it."
A tear rolled down his cheek, and I walked away to give him some alone time.
We were already at the harbor, all of us. Lloyd and Skylor were strapping on their oxygen masks.
"Jay!" Lloyd yelled. "Can you hurry up?"
"And can you quiet down?" Cole yelled at him. "You're giving me a headache, all of you!"
Cole was not being himself lately. I watched as Kai shuddered and wiped his eyes.
I saw Vania trying to calm Cole down, but he stormed away angrily and sat on a bench. I shook my head at Vania, then I whispered to her and Kai: "Don't anger him, it'll be alright."
They both nodded, and I rushed off to Lloyd and Skylor. Lloyd was looking a little weary at the fact that one of his best friends had yelled at him, but Skylor was untouched.
"Can you tell us what we're doing?" Lloyd whispered, as not to anger Cole again.
"Lloyd! Just chill. You'll see," I replied. I strapped on my oxygen mask and, without a second thought, I grabbed Kai's vengestone armor and jumped into the endless sea.
A few seconds later, Lloyd and Skylor jumped in too.
"This mask is so irritating!" Lloyd yelled, exasperated, and he was kind of allowed to yell now because we were underwater and Cole couldn't hear us.
"I understand! Just wait," I replied. Lloyd made an irritated face but stopped when Skylor glared at him.
I led both of them deep into the ocean, and I kept going down and down, until we eventually reached the bottom.
"This is going to be quite hard, okay?" I told them. "Just keep searching around for anything unusual or moving!"
Lloyd and Skylor exchanged nods and then we set off.
We searched patiently but found nothing for about an hour, and then I spotted a weird sand house with high rocks stacked on top.
I pointed to it, and without thinking, I entered.
It was not as small as it looked. There was a big kitchen, what looked like two beds, and a lounge area made of rocks.
The house was empty, but then I saw a blueish blur fly by me.
"Hey!" I screamed.
That's when I saw what it was. It looked like Nya after she merged with the sea.
"Are you Nya?" I asked.
"My name is not Nya," she replied. "My name is Nyad. But my granddaughter is here, and her name is Nya. Who are you?"
"I--I'm related to Nya," I said. "So are my friends." I gestured to Lloyd and Skylor.
