It's Official

Lloyd's POV

"Hah-hah! You're my cousin, alright, dang!" That was Cole's loud, excited, 'impress my crush voice', echoing through the hallways.

"Chill out, dude!" Vania said back.

Cole's words rang through my head. Cousins can still love, he'd told me.

Hah-hah. Funny.

I was walking through the hallway, on my crutches, to grab a glass of water. I stumbled and staggered but made it.

Just as I was about to touch the glass...

"Lloyd!"

"Aagh!" I screamed, startled, losing my balance and falling into Kai's arms.

"Easy there!" He gasped in shock before fixing my crutches and helping me walk.

"Sorry," I said and blushed, imagining how nice it would be to fall on Harumi like that.

"It's okay, child," said Kai in a funny voice.

"Child?!"

"Oh, sorry. I meant angsty eighteen-year-old." Kai rolled his eyes and smiled, and so did I.

Yeah, I'm eighteen years old. That means I was twelve when Harumi betrayed me. LOL.

Anyway, as I drank water, and heard a shriek as Kai bumped into Skylor and accidentally kissed her on the cheek.

They saw me watching, so I smirked, snapped a picture, and ran off on my crutches to show the others.

I gathered everyone, and when we came out, Kai and Skylor were still there. The parents were chatting loudly at the dining table now too.

"You know, when me and Skylor met, we were just fourteen years of age?" Kai said randomly.

"Cool!" said Nya with a bored laugh. We were about to leave but Cole screamed as Kai shot a blast of fiery smoke at him.

By now, even the parents were looking at us.

That's when Kai started speaking a bit louder.

"Let me tell you a story. When I was thirteen years old, Zane supposedly died. My fourteenth birthday rolled around soon after, but all I did was watch the sunset."

Kai sighed. "And then we found a strange invitation to Chen's Island, and got onto the cruise which would take us there. As we walked down the boardwalk, I remember Lloyd telling me to focus on getting Zane and not get distracted."

Me and Kai exchanged a smile.

"But then, I saw a face looking at me. It was a girl. She only looked back for a second; Into my eyes. I forgot all about what Lloyd had said. The next couple weeks, I fell in love with the girl, but that's when I found out she was Chen's daughter and was evil."

Kai and Skylor exchanged a glance. Then he continued, "It was quite a heartbreak and betrayal from her, but then I told her the truth about her father and she turned against him. We worked together and defeated him...But then we lost touch."

He looked at Skylor again before saying, "And finally, after many years, Nya's sacrifice came to her ears and she visited, then decided to stay. And now, so that we never lose touch again..."

Kai turned his back to us and we saw a pendant in his left hand. He kneeled down in front of Skylor, making his parents gasp, and then he said, "Skylor! Will you be my Yang?"

We all let out a gasp, the loudest one from Maya and Ray. It wasn't in disapproval; It was shock.

I remember one day, when my friends were trapped in the first realm, I had asked Skylor, "Did you like Kai?" and guess what she said?

"I do, but I think he needs to man up and propose to me already."

Because of that, I'd never have thought Kai would have pulled this off. I mean, he is super confident, but he never had enough confidence to propose to the love of his life.

And now, in front of all the adults and all his friends, he finally did.

"Yes!" Skylor screamed. She took her half of the pendant and pinned it to her shirt. "Yes, Kai!" and they both hugged.

That's when I had a daring idea. Two daring ideas, actually. One for today and one for another day. Today's idea...

I put my hands together and whacked them repeatedly, in a clap. I was feeling bold, so I smirked and gestured for the others to clap too. Soon the house was a huge fit of clapping and Jay and Wu's chicken screeching at the sounds.

Eventually the clapping died down, and we all took a moment to look at Kai and Skylor: Officially a couple. After so long.
