she cries in the shower,
the tears mixing with the water.
and with each passing hour,
she's reminded of the yells of her mother.

she looks at her fat body,
what a shame she is.
she's a nobody.
what kind of life is this?

she cuts her thighs.
she's living in pain.
she's heard the lies,
this is for her own gain.

another sleepless night
and she's tired.
but when there's first light,
she sees her thighs, scarred.

they're covered in red,
the color of blood.
marks of the words they said.
there she goes, living her life.

but now she's dead.
