As soon as the elevator doors of the penthouse opened, Rocket ran out from his kennel, wagged his tail and leaped into Asia's arms with excitement!
"Oh my goodness, Rocket you got so big! I missed you." She exclaimed while bending down to pick up the ecstatic puppy. Asia stood up and handed Rocket to Nick as she took a good look around the penthouse. She was appalled to see that the place had been completely trashed! There were empty pizza boxes and old food containers thrown all across the living room, dirty clothes were piled high on the couch, blunt roaches were scattered outside of the ashtrays and empty sprite and tipped over codeine bottles littered the floor.
"Nick...what the hell happened in here?" She asked softly. Nick stood frozen in shame holding Rocket without answering. He had lost his way during the two months that Asia was locked up, and the fact that she was witnessing the aftermath of his downward spiral was too much for him to face. Asia felt the sudden urge to eat and headed to the kitchen to relieve her hunger pains. She was shocked to see that all of the food inside of the fridge was spoiled and the pantry was empty.
"Nick, how have you been surviving while I've been away?" She asked in shock.
"I haven't." He admitted.
Asia walked over to him slowly and softly kissed his lips as they exchanged a look that conveyed a thousand sentiments.Asia went upstairs to take a hot shower. She changed into a pair of grey sweats and plopped onto Nick's king sized bed. She closed her eyes and let the calm and easiness of being in a safe warm environment wash over her entire being.
Nick came into the room to find his fiancé resting peacefully inside of the nest that she created for herself out of the sheets and the comforter. He tip toed over to her quietly and kissed her forehead.
"Just stay here and relax. I'ma go out and get you sum food." He said. The sky had darkened and it looked like a storm was brewing in the city. He didn't want Asia to be inconvenienced by leaving the penthouse to face the rain.
"No Nick! Please don't leave me by myself." Asia panicked. After months of being caged like a scared animal alone in a cell, Asia craved security, companionship, and compassion like her life depended on it.
"Aight baby, I won't leave you. I promise." Nick reached out to stroke her face and grabbed her hands.
"C'mon. What chu wanna eat?" He asked.
"Ummm, McDonald's french fries please." Asia urged. Nick laughed. "Since when you start eatin' Mc Donald's? I woulda thought you would want Pañera or whatever kinda lil healthy type shit you be eatin." He joked.
"I've been eating that ass flavored jail food for months. Please, I just want what I want." She pouted.
"Aight, le'go." He said.
