Today was the day that Cillian would be officially divorced.

And when he woke up that morning, he found himself in a weird mood. It wasn't exactly happy about the ending of his marriage, nor was he necessarily upset about it either. It was like Cillian was numb to the entire ordeal, and he wanted nothing more than to get it over with. As he laid in Auden's bed, staring at the ceiling, he wondered what kind of mood Jenni would be in when he saw her, how Charlie was doing, and how Auden was taking everything.

Auden, who was getting ready to head into the gallery, was surprisingly quiet when Cillian finally got out of bed. She gave him a quick kiss as she made breakfast, asked him how he slept, and gave him a small smile when he responded. As she sat down to eat, she said nothing.

But he could tell by the way Auden held her shoulders and avoided eye contact that she was anxious. Auden had been on edge since the holiday party but continuously denied feeling that way. Clearly, something he had said affected her but he as he replayed the night in his head, Cillian couldn't place what it was.

Part of him began to suspect that it was finalization of his divorce. He felt nervous regarding the possibility of Auden doubting him as a partner, especially after admitting that he still held love towards his ex-wife.

It didn't help that Auden would not ask him for information regarding that part of his life, most likely because she didn't want to be reminded of that fact that he was technically still married. It was a giant stain on their relationship, and something that left him feeling unsettled constantly. Cillian wondered if it would be beneficial to explain to Auden everything that had happened between him and Jenni, just to clear the air.

Then again, Cillian knew it was hard to explain to someone young and inexperienced what it meant to be married to someone, to build a life with them and have it crumble. She was extremely naive when it came to forming deep, intimate bonds with another person and the emotional turmoil it could create.

"Why are you staring at me?" Auden said to him suddenly. She kept her eyes on her phone as she spoke, eating her yogurt.

Cillian felt himself blink. He didn't realize he was staring at her, but he was too in his head to notice.
