Darkness prevailed as the night grew deeper. That being said, I found myself wide awake in the middle of it all. "Argh," I groaned as I already tried everything I could think of just to make myself fall asleep but to no avail.

It was then that I finally decided to sit up and get out of my futon. I dragged the futon all the way to the front of the sliding glass door leading to the small, empty terrace of my apartment. I tugged the curtain to the side, opening just enough space before sitting back down on the futon. Turning my head to look through the closed sliding glass door, I couldn't help but sigh on what I have seen. No. On what I have not seen, rather.

"This is the city, F/n. City," I told myself as it made sense that stars were not visible at all due to how bright the lights were all over the streets.

Because of that, I flopped down on my futon and stared at the ceiling right above me. I was still wide awake and was now getting bored. My restlessness made me stand back up, pulled the curtains shut and once again dragged the futon back to where it originally was. I grabbed my phone before laying back down on the futon for the nth time of the night.

Scrolling through social medias, I've read some threads here and there, watched some short video clips and dance challenges, saw some updates by people I recognized. There was one post from someone that I haven't recognized but then Kuroo-san and Bokuto-san were tagged on it. The photo was of them cleaning and mopping what seemed like a kitchen floor with a caption "Make sure not to leave a spot" and an angry emoji. The photo made me chuckle as I continued to look at it for a bit longer before leaving a "haha" reaction among a whole bunch of others with the exact same reaction.

A few minutes went by as I resumed my journey through social media when my phone suddenly vibrated a notification. I received a message which was highly uncharacteristic given how deep in the night it was. "Go to sleep," it said and I couldn't help but let out a small laugh as I typed, "You go to sleep," before sending it. It didn't even take a minute before I was receiving an audio call and I didn't hesitate to answer it.

"So now you're stalking me on social media in the middle of the night, huh, L/n-san?" he said and then chuckled. "You should've tried to be subtle at it if you didn't want to get caught."

"I wasn't stalking you, Kuroo-san. The photo simply popped out on my feed as I scrolled," I told him. "Besides, I couldn't help but find it funny! Reminded me of when I messed something up and had to clean it thoroughly," I told him.

He scoffed. "You have no idea how terrified we were when it happened. Argh, just thinking about it gives me shivers all over," he told me. "All that aside, what are you doing right now, L/n-san? Besides stalking me, of course."

The middle blocker's words made me laugh. I hummed as I decided to put the call on loudspeaker before putting the phone down near me. "Laying down on my futon, staring at the ceiling, talking to you," I answered.

Kuroo-san let out a small laugh. "What a simple and nice thing to be doing right now."

"And it's the truth," I added and I heard him chuckle. "What about you? What are you doing right now, Kuroo-san?"

"Hmm... Nothing much. Just drafting a bit of my inputs for the term paper," he told me and I gasped.

"Seriously?! You're kidding, right?" I told him.

"Nope," he said as I heard a bit of ruffling noises and it didn't long before he sent me an image of him in front of a laptop on a study table, grinning as he was holding up a peace sign. It was blurry, though. Despite that, there was something that definitely caught my attention.

"Kuroo-san, you wear glasses?!"

He chuckled at my reaction. "They're anti-radiation glasses. Helps me from burning my eyes while staring at the screen too much," he told me.
