Shatashringa Mountains

A few months passed since Amritha was officially adopted into the family of Pandu and she was slowly learning to speak the language of the natives of the time. She was now able to make basic conversations and did not struggle as much as she did initially, she took interest in learning of the various shastras and found a special attachment towards archery and fencing among the art of wielding  weapons as she saw her foster father train her brothers with various weapons but was scared approach and was scared of rejection. A few wonderful things also took place, she had accepted and started calling Kunti and  Mādri as her mothers and the Pāndavas were now her lifelines who filled her life with joy and will to move on from her past with their innocent talks and happy go lucky nature.

"Amritha why are you standing like that my child, do you want something?" asked Pāndu on spotting Amritha secretly watching him training with the bow and arrow as she slowly looked from behind as her eyes held fear and innocence. It was early in the morning as he had just completed training

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that" she  said slowly instinctively and lowered her eyes and Pandu sighed as he kept his bow on the side and sat on the rock and called her to come there and she walked and sat on the ground  facing him

"I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that" she  said slowly instinctively and lowered her eyes and Pandu sighed as he kept his bow on the side and sat on the rock and called her to come there and she walked and sat on the ground  facing him.

"Amu, why are you so scared? Have I done something wrong putri?" asked Pandu concerned, he had observed how Amritha hid and watched him training himself or the young Pandavas, he expected her to approach him especially after he saw her intently looking at his bow with keen interest and trying to wield it a week ago but that never happened, she never made any demands or wishes, she just did what was expected of her and mostly stuck around her brothers.

[A/N: Thankyou @aastha-exe for this cute nick name for Amritha]

"Maharaj, you never did anything wrong" she immediately said without thinking and the father of the Pandavas sighed how much more would she hide of herself and her wishes

"If I was so faultless then what has my daughter fearing to demand what her heart wants" Pandu asked emotionally as he caressed her face and she looked stumped. It was the first time someone asked her what she wanted rather than telling her to do, what was expected of her and giving her constant reminders of how she should not wish for something, yes her brother and grandfather always fulfilled her wishes but all came at a cost that made her guilty to even voice out her wishes. She still remembered how her grandfather had to keep mum about the atrocities her biological father did just so that she studied the subject she loved instead of marrying early in life and

"Then won't you lose something Papa" she said and Pandu looked at her with a whirlwind of emotions as she called him Papa, he remembered her telling it was a way of addressing father in the time she lived when they were talking of the differences in culture and language.  She had already started addressing both Kunti and Madri as her mothers within week's time of her arrival and he remembered how joyous and happy were his wives on being called mother again, it did pain a bit that she had not still called him her father and had consoled himself saying she probably needed time and that time finally arrived and he was over the moon.
