CHAPTER 3

'Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho Purvi..?' Kavin asked being shocked.

'Vahi jo aapne kal kiya us baare mei..' She said with a teasing smile.

'Maine tumhe kab propose kiya.. Mai tho bas tumhe birthday surprise de raha tha..' Kavin shouted while everyone looked at them.

'Ab aapko samajh aaya na bhai ki yeh Kavin sir ne mera kidnapping kyun ki.. Ab rehne dijiye aur Kajal tum apna gussa thuk do..' Purvi said and she went to her desk calmly as if nothing happened.

Everyone also went to their desk. Dushyant came near Kavin and he was holding a file in his hand.

'Kya soch rahe ho Kavin..?' Dushyant asks with a teasing smile.

'Yaar Dush tu jaa apne desk pe.. Mujhe aur pareshaan mat karo.. Ek tho Purvi ne sabke saamne mere feelings rakh diye aur ab aise behave kar rahi hai jaise ki kuch hua hi na ho.. Mai samajh ne ki koshish kar raha hu ki aakhir Purvi mere liye kya feel karti hai..' Kavin said in low tone.

'Pyaar..' She said and vanished from there. He sighed and looked at the real Purvi who seemed to be lost in her own thoughts.

'Vaise kaise surprise kiya Purvi ko..?' Dushyant asked.

'Kuch khaas nahi..' He said and started doing his work blocking his face through the file Kavin was holding.

'Ah candle light dinner pe le gaye use..?' Dushyant said with a teasing smile.

'Candle light dinner...?' Pankaj shouted. Daya looked at him as well as Abhijeet.

'Nahi sir.. Aisa kuch nahi hua.. Purvi.. Bolo na kuch..' Kavin said.

'Candle light dinner vo bhi Kavin sir..?' Purvi laughed.

'Unke paas gaadi mei petrol bharwane ke paise nahi the vo bhi mujhse liye... Aaj tho wallet aapke paas hai na sir..?' She asked.

'Ya aaj bhi paise dene padenge mujhe..?' Purvi asked.

'Wallet hai.. Aur yeh rahe tumhare paise..' Kavin said and gave her some money.

Just then they got a call and Ishita received the call. She was informed that a couple were murdered and their bodies were found in a van.

The cops reached the crime scene and did some investigation. They did some research about that van and found that the case was related to a village where a communal marriage takes place and few of the couples were murdered.

ACP Pradyuman decided to send Daya, Kajal, Kavin and Purvi on this case as some other case was also reported and the CID team needs to be divided. So Dajal and Kavi reached the village, Veeramgam.

'Hum yaha pahunch toh gaye lekin samuhik vivah kaha hota hai yeh kaise pata chalega..?' Kavin asked.

'Dimaag ke istemaal karne se..' Purvi said.

'Pari..' Daya said and nodded in no asking her to stop doing that.

'Achchha tho aap hi bataiye madam ki ab hume kya karna hai..?' Kavin asked.

'Sarpanch ke saath dosti..' Daya and Purvi said in union.

'Yeh dono pukka bhai behen hai..' Kavin commented while Kajal looked at him with a look of 'isme koi shak hai..?'

'Vaise sir sarpanch se dosti kyun karna hai..?' Kajal asked Daya.

'Gaav mei jo bhi kaam ho vo sarpanch se chupaye nahi jaa sakte khaas kar samuhik vivah jaise bade kaam tho bilkul bhi nahi..' Daya said.

So Dajal and Kavi who were disguised in village attire now got down from the car and they walked towards the village separately (Daya and Kavin on one side and Purvi and Kajal on other side).

Daya and Kavin asked the tea shop owner about the sarpanch.

'Arey bhai log.. Sarpanch ji yeh rahe.. Vaise aap log unhe kyun dhundh rahe ho..? Aur aap log hai kaun..?' One of the villager asked.

'Vo bhaya.. Hum pados gaav mei rehvat hai.. Yeh hamara bada bhaya hai (pointing towards Daya).. Hum sunat hai ki idhar byaah vyaah hovat hai.. Tho bhaya aur apne liye ladki dhundhne aavat hai..' Kavin said while Daya went speechless listening Kavin's slang.

Purvi and Kajal who heard them from bluetooth were also speechless. Kajal was embarrassed.

'Achchha.. Lekin isme mai kya kar sakta hu..?' Sarpanch asked.

'Sarpanch jee.. Vo kah hai na.. Hum tho is gaav ma naye naye hai.. Ab ladki dhundhne aavat hai tho sanskari ladki mile tho hamara tho jeevan dhnya ho jaavoge.. Par is naye gaav ma hum sanskari ladki ko kaha dhundhe..?' Kavin said.

'Arey tho tum log ek kaam karo.. Parson hamare gaav mei ek samuhik vivah hone wala hai, tho usme shaamil ho jao.. Jo ladki pasand aayegi us ladki ka token.. Arey kya kehte hai use.. Jo bhi ho, us ladki ko ek ankh diya jaayega, jis ladki ko tumne pasand kiya us ladki ka ankh bol do tumhe vo token de denge tho seeda kapde badal ke mandap mei chale jaana shaadi karne..' Sarpanch said patting Kavin's shoulder.

'Vo sab tho thik hai Sarpanch jee par hum kaha rahe..?' Kavin asked. Sarpanch replied that they can stay with him. Sarpanch, Daya and Kavin left.

Kajal and Purvi came with some bags and Purvi broke the pot in her hand and she fell on the ground. Kajal turned around and shouted..

'Jhumri kar diya na satyanash.. Ek kaam na hove taare se.. Kaun byaah karega ab taare se agar tu aise kaam karegi toh..?' Kajal shouted (she was acting infront of villagers).

Jhumri pretended to cry and one of the villagers comforted her.

'Arey aise kaun daant ta hai..? Ab itne saare samaan leke chalegi ladki toh saari girayegi hi na.. Pehle khud toh kaam karna seekh le.. Saara samaan choti behen ko de diya aur khud toh aaram se chal rahi hai..' A lady yelled at Kajal.

'Rehne dijiye kaki.. Bachpan mei ji ne hi mera saara samaan uthaya hai.. Byaah ke baad tho chah kar bhi na utha paaungi..' Jhumri said.

'Tu tho chup raho.. Agar aisa hi chalta raha tho kal ko teri ji na uske bachche bhi tere godh mei de degi uthane ke liye...' The village lady said. Kajal was embarrassed and she just wanted to escape from there.

'Tu chal hamare saath.. Aur tu (to Kajal) bhi chal.. Hamare ghar mei rehna.. Parson samuhik vivah hai gaav mei toh parson apne pasandida ladke se byaah kar lena..' The village lady said and the trio left to her house.
