"To see the gems You wanted to see so bad," the words uttered from his mouth were words that meant a lot to me at that instant. I stood there not saying a thing as I tried to question what I wanted to do. At that moment it felt like there was nothing unresolved between us as I stared at the refined features that made him look like he was carved from marble.

"Are you sure?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Do you want me to rethink?" And again, he answered with a question. One thing I've learned about Joshua along the way is that he loves to answer people in a twisted way. As twisted as he could make it sound.

"No," I shook my head vigorously at him as a satisfied look flashed through his expression for a few seconds. I mean that's progress, right? For a guy who keeps his emotions tightly under wraps.

Joshua and I were soon in a car, out of his various expensive cars, with kier and Giovanni. I thought it was just the two of us and to say the presence of Giovanni is a slap to my face because I was pretty clear about my hatred for this guy.

I squinted my eyes and looked at Joshua sitting quietly in the passenger seat while kier drove. Leaving me behind to share the same space with Giovanni.

"I understand your feelings for me but can you stop scaring me," Giovanni sighed as he slouched on the seat like he did earlier in Joshua's apartment. His long hair fell messily over his eyes. It's as if he never bothers to look refined and still manages to look pretty good.

I gave him another similar look that screamed at him to shut up.

A while later Joshua signaled something at kier. I don't know what it means but kier sighed heavily before pulling the car to a stop at the side of the road. I didn't know what was going on but we got off the car I followed Joshua's lead, keeping my eyes on him without a single glance away. It's like I'm searching for something in his nonchalant, almost mysterious, behavior. I was still thinking when I let a sigh similar to kiers escape my mouth.

"Would you look at that," Giovanni stepped outside right after kier as he brushed a hand through his messy long hair inhaling the fresh air. That's when I noticed that he had a detective's badge on his oversized black shirt. The badge looked so out of place.

I took my time looking around to find details or clues about the place. I don't know why Joshua would stop here. I found the courage to speak because this wasn't like me and I wasn't going to let the questions pile up in my head.

My eyes met kiers as I tried telling him through my eyes to drag the stupid detective away from Joshua so I could ask and feed my curiosity some food. I don't know how it happened but he understood exactly what I wanted.

"Let's go, Giovanni," kier took hold of his arm and started pushing him further away from Joshua.

"Hey hey, what is wrong with you," he tried breaking free but kiers resolve wasn't that easy to break. It reminded me of when he dragged me behind Joshua when I was caught outside the auditorium. Not a very good memory I would say, however, If it wasn't for what I did back then, I wouldn't be here right now.

I slowly stepped behind Joshua. He was staring into the distance. I wanted to follow his eyes and see what he was looking at. It was something out of my grasp, beyond what I was looking at through my normal eyes. His sight seemed to look through what I was looking at. Can one look at nothing like he's looking at something precious? Or something that doesn't make sense.

I took a deep breath before speaking.

"Where are we?" I asked. Joshua glanced at me.

"We're going to see the gems of course," he replied calmly.
