Chapter 28

May 2018

"Oh my god," Chris sobbed out as he opened the door. He had been in New York for about two months now which means that he was away from Aurora and Jasmine for two months. They were going to be spending his last two weeks in New York with him. And now they were both right in front of him and he felt like his heart could burst from how happy he was. He wasted no time in bringing his girls in for a hug, making sure not to squish Jasmine between them. "I've missed you both so much."

"We've missed you too," Aurora sighed into his chest. "So much."

They pulled apart and Chris grabbed Jasmine out of Aurora's arms. "Hi my sweet girl. Look at you! You're so big!"

"She's grew like two inches. And she's laughing now! Chris it is the best sound I have ever heard."

"I missed her first laugh?" Chris pouted, about ready to cry.

"Yes but I recorded it for you. I was going to send it but I wanted you to hear it in person first."

"Well how do I make her laugh?"

"Well can we go sit first? You have me just standing here," she chuckled.

"Sorry," he said bashfully. "I just got so excited to see you guys. Let me get your bags." Chris led Aurora into his suite and set her bags next to the couch where they both sat down.

"Just give her a little tickle on her belly and the girl will crack up."

Chris held Jasmine out in front of him and started lightly tickling her belly. The sound that filled the room made his smile grow bigger than it ever had. "Oh my god that is the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. You are perfect my sweet girl!"

It was already late when Aurora and Jasmine arrived so they only stayed talking in the living room for a little while. Chris led Aurora to the bedroom and carried her bags in. "I got a crib sent in for Jasmine so you can stay in here with her. I'll take the couch."

"The couch? Just stay in here."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Chris. I think we can resist each other," she teased. "Especially with our daughter in the room."

"As long as you're sure."

"I'm sure."

They both got ready for bed and quickly fell asleep. Aurora had just been on a five hour flight with a four month old baby so she was exhausted. She also had been booked to appear on Jimmy Fallon tomorrow so she had a long day ahead of her.

They woke the next morning with Aurora's head on Chris' chest and her arm draped around his waist while his arm was wrapped around her. This was the first time either of them had slept in the same bed together and neither of them really wanted to get out of bed. "Good morning," Chris said before placing a kiss on Aurora's head.

"Good morning," she smiled up at him. She leaned up and placed a kiss on his lips. The kiss started getting deeper before a cry filled the room. "Of course," she giggled.

"I got her," he said. He gave her another quick kiss before getting out of bed. "Why don't you start getting ready and I'll order us breakfast," he said as he walked towards the crib to get Jasmine.

"Can you get me a-"

"Avocado toast."

"With-"

"Fruit and potatoes."

"And a c-"

"Cold brew. I got it," he smiled proudly.

"Thank you," she blushed.
