Chapter 58

Chris and Aurora planned their wedding fairly quickly. It was a lot easier to do than either of them had anticipated. It had a lot to do with the fact that they were having a very simple wedding. They were going to have the ceremony followed by a small celebration in their house.

They had originally planned to get food catered but Joan was almost offended that they decided that without even asking her if she'd cook for them. Aurora and Chris both wanted her to just enjoy the celebration but she insisted. She argued that since they weren't inviting that many people it wouldn't be too much work. She really wanted to cook for her daughter's wedding. After much back and forth they finally agreed to let Joan cook, making her promise not to go overboard.

All that was left was the cake, decorations, and their outfits. With their connections, they were able to get everything done rather quickly.

The hardest part was figuring out who would attend. It was a given that both their immediate families would be there. So Chris would have Lisa, Scott, Shana, Carly, his brother-in-laws, and his niece and nephews. Aurora only had her mom. She had more family but they all lived in different states so she wasn't particularly close to any of them. Chris suggested she have Zendaya, Tom, and Harry attend since they were basically like her siblings. So including them and their two kids, there would only be seventeen people in attendance.

Their living room had been turned into their dream venue. Flowers and candles filling the room. They didn't put the chairs in sections depending on which side of the family they were on, instead choosing to have all the chairs together. They wanted it to represent the start of their families becoming one.

Other than the people in attendance, no one else even knew that they were engaged. Since it was so little of them, they weren't having many people in the actual wedding party. Zendaya was going to be the maid of honor, Scott was going to be the best man, Jasmine was going to be the flower girl, and Eric was going to be the ring bearer.

A week ago, Chris had sent out a text that he wanted to have a Zoom call with everyone so they could all catch up, since they hadn't seen each other in about a year. What everyone didn't know was that they were actually going to be virtually attending their wedding. They planned to start the call right before the ceremony was going to start. Tom was going to be in charge of setting it up and letting them know once everyone had joined so that they could start the ceremony.
