"I think we should go on a date." Whispers hot boy as I pull my sneakers on at the door. I look up at him. "Oh." I reply quietly, scared my voice will hint how much I want to go on one with him.
"I mean... Maybe but I'm fairly busy." I try to sound mysterious but fail extremely. He rolls his eyes. "Mhmm. With what?"
I finish pulling my shoes on. "Uh... Homework." I quickly respond. He sighs. "You suck at lying, Charlotte. It's summer vacation."
Oh god. He said my name again. Heart pounding, hands sweating, butterflies returning. I think I like hot guy. I sigh.
"I mean... We both know that but humour me, why don't you?" I murmur dully. He chuckles and turns me by my shoulders so that he's between the door and I.
"So what about that date Evans? What do you say?" I blink slowly. THIS IS HOT GUY CHARLOTTE. GET IT TOGETHER. "Yes. Yeah, okay."
"Great." He smiles. "Pick you up at 7." And with a wink, he opens the door for me and walks away back through his house, up the stairs. I exit through the door and run home.
Just as I'm about to call Ally, I remember what she did and quickly block her number. I look through my contacts to see if there's someone I trust in it. Then, I see Kayla's name. Bingo.
