I'm baaack! Life has been busy since the last update but hopefully next one won't take as long.
CW: a tiny bit about childhood drama that we all have been through, nothing triggering.
Enjoy.
Soo.. I did something. Call me when you wake up.
That was the text Emelia decided to send to Wanda as soon as she woke up on Monday morning after spending the entirety of Sunday panicking between naps, calming herself down and distracting herself with a book, and debating several times canceling the whole thing.
She'd never done anything like that before. Her guess a lot of other people didn't too but what does a 24 year old city girl really know?
All that Emelia really knew was that somewhere deep inside of her she really wanted to meet that guy, no rational thoughts were involved as she made that decision because when he asked she found herself wondering what it would be like to do it. To put herself out there again and not be afraid to let someone touch her. To prove that she really did come out on top and beat her trauma.
And some small part of her realizes that it could also be dangerous; meeting a stranger after barely talking to them online but, she figures it's kind of like online dating. Albeit this stranger shot videos of himself jacking off and this "date" was a really a glorified booty call because sometimes lust clouds the brain and renders it absolutely useless.
Her body was craving him and what he would do to her, logic be damned.
Three hours into her shift, she and Steve were working in companionable silence, pouring coffees and cleaning countertops when suddenly the shrill sound of her phone ringing sounded, making her almost drop the tray of fresh pastries she was stocking in the display.
Huffing a breath of air, Emelia got up on shaky legs and placed the tray on the back counter and closed the display before snatching her phone off from her purse and silencing it. Seeing Wanda's name on the screen made her nervous because if anyone could talk sense into her brain, it was gonna be her closest friend.
"I'm really sorry, Steve but I have to take this."
Steve's kind eyes were on her face, sensing the change in her tone he nodded.
"Go ahead. It's slow now anyways."
Grabbing her phone and jacket, Emelia took off for the door, turning back to thank him.
"Thank you! It'll just be a couple of minutes I promise."
"Take your time," he shrugged her off with a grin.
Answering the call before it ends, Emelia runs to the alley next to the coffeehouse.
"Hey Wanda! What's up?" She tried to sound casual, like nothing was wrong but she could never fool the redhead.
