POV:Lëiani
I woke up to everyone else still being asleep. I'm sure they were all exhausted because for one, it's a new place that we're staying at. For two, they all stayed up the entire ride.I don't know how everyone managed to function without taking a nap yesterday. I think I was the first one to fall asleep.
I got up, quietly walking out of the hut. I'm assuming it's like 6 in the morning because the sun is just starting to rise.
It's perfect. I decided to look for a place to sit to watch the sun come up. I walked from the rope stuff onto a patch of sand. I then sat on the sand by the water. Learning to adapt seems much easier than I thought it was going to be.
For being human, this isn't hard at all. Being on a swim team back at home really helped with holding my breath for long, so I can hold my breath. I can ride Ilu's. Also, I pick up things really easily so I'm sure I could learn the sign language without a doubt.
It's all easy for me.
"Good morning P.A." Neteyam sat right next to me.
He's surprisingly quiet. I'm shocked I didn't hear him come up.
"Good morning A.C." I slightly smiled.
"How'd you sleep?" He asked.
"I slept good." I leaned towards him, setting my head on his shoulder.
He placed his head on top of mine.
"That's good."
"How'd you sleep?" I asked him.
"I slept alright. I had trouble sleeping but I managed." I closed my eyes letting out a sigh. I feel so comfortable around him. It's like he understands me even if we don't talk.
"Why were you mad yesterday when your dad called for a family meeting?" I asked once again.
"You're never going to quit are you?"
"Nope."
He picked his head up from off of mine. His arms rested on his knees as he looked out at the water. I picked my head up, looking at him.
"I had told him how I felt about someone and he got mad. We ended up having a argument. Nothing to big. Just brother stuff I guess."
Someone?
"Someone? Who's someone?" I was hoping he wasn't going to pull the oh you don't know them card.
He looked at me. A small smile started to spread across his face. "Lëiani you know who..." We held strong eye contact.
If looks could kill, I'd be dead.
"I still don't know who." I stared at him.
My face was burning.
He scoffed. "You're seriously going to make me say it?"
"Yes." I smiled.
He let out a loud sigh, letting his head fall in between his legs. He started laughing, shaking his head. He then looked back up at me. "You Lëiani. I was talking about you."
I don't know why I acted like I didn't know it was me. Who else would it have been? I mean it could've been Tsireya but thank God it wasn't.
"Well what did you say? I hope you weren't talking shit about me. If you were then Lo'ak had every reason to be mad." I laughed.
He started shaking his head. "Lëiani you know good and well that I wouldn't talk shit about you. The only time I'd ever mention your name would be a good thing following up with it."
