Warnings:

POV:Lëiani
I began dragging him to the surface. I got us away from the whale things tail. Once we broke through the surface, I started gasping for air.

I had no time though. I looked around for a nearby rock but there wasn't one. There was absolutely nothing out here.

I felt for his pulse. It was slow and barely beating. He was dying. Just then, we were flipped onto the whale things back.

I had no time to think. I pulled Lo'ak towards me. I began giving him cpr. I pressed on his chest repeatedly, then put my ear to his chest to see if I could hear a heartbeat.

It wasn't getting any better. It was more distinct than anything.

"Lo'ak please!" I pressed on his chest harder. I then pressed my lips to his, blowing air into his mouth.

This was a never ending cycle. I felt like a broken record. I couldn't tell if I was making it better or worse.

I pressed my lips to his, blowing as much air as I could into his mouth. I pulled away. I thought all that air would do the trick but it wouldn't.

"God dammit Lo'ak!" I pounded on his chest with my fist. Instantly he shot up, throwing up all the water he swallowed.

I stumbled backwards from my knees onto my ass. I just watched him as he was basically drowning again.

He finally stopped, looking over at me. "Lëiani? Did you...did you save me?"

I slowly nodded my head, not saying anything. I really thought he was dead. I thought I was going to get killed for failing my mission.

I really seen my life flash before my eyes. But so did he.

"Lëiani." He waved his hand in front of my face. I snapped out of my thoughts. "You okay?"

I nodded once again.

"Why did you save me?" He asked.

Why the fuck was he asking such a dumb question?

"Because it's my duty to keep you alive." I responded.

My voice sounded scratchy. It was probably from screaming his name, and not in a good way.

There was a moment of silence. "I'm sorry." He spoke up.

"Why are you apologizing? You shouldn't be apologizing."

"Yes I should." He scooted closer to me. "I was the one who trusted them. I shouldn't have in the first place. I knew they were grimy but I still did it anyway. I put you in danger. I put us in danger."

"Lo'ak it doesn't matter if you put me in danger or not. That's basically what I'm here for." I shrugged.

"It does matter."

"No it doesn't." I scoffed. "Why does it matter?"

He looked down at my hand. He then picked my hand up, interlocking his fingers in mine. "Because Lëiani, I care for you. I like you. I like you, like you."

"Lo'ak-"

"I really do Lëiani. Seriously."

"I believe you, but we've already gone through this."

"I know I know." He squeezed my hand slightly. "But like I've said before, I'll always wait for you." He smiled slightly.

The eye contact we were holding was too strong. I was about to have a heatstroke. I broke the eye contact, letting go of his hand.
