Chapter Five | Pony?

It's my own remorse

Y/n's Pov

When I walked into the house the first thing I saw was Darry & Sodapop. "Where the hell are you been?!", He asked me while he yelled. I didn't know what to tell. I figured telling the truth would do, but he would assume Dallas probably pulled something. That itself made me not wanna tell him. So I mouthed back.

"I'm almost an adult, why do you care?", I said, it was like I couldn't stop myself from saying that.
"Sorry.", I said, I decided the truth would be better. Before Darry spoke up, I said something.

"I was with Dally."
"You what?!"
"Nothing bad happened. I just slept there. I didn't wanna come home and get yelled at, especially at night. Since I was walking around for at least an hour or two. Sorry Darry." I told him, actually feeling bad.
"Just, make sure you call next. If you are to stay at someone's, anywhere else but Dal's is fine." He told me as he walked off. I then let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in.
"Okay, sorry again", I said.

I then headed upstairs to get changed

"Where's Pony?", I asked as we were eating breakfast.
"Don't know."
"Hasn't been here since he ran off."
I looked at them as my mouth held and 'O'.
"Why'd he run off?", I asked.
"Darry hit him."
"Darry what?", I asked, but before they could respond I spoke up again.
"Why?", I asked.
"He came home late too. Earlier than you though." I nodded my head.
"Yeah sorry again."
"It's fine, just don't do it again.", I was told.
I then nodded. After we finished Darry & Soda cleaned their plates. Then they head to work.

After that I waited for Two-bit to come by and take me to school. After he did we had a couple conversations in his car.

Soon after I was back at school. I had no clue where Pony & Johnny was. I was kinda worried. Most of us figured Dally knew. I decided to ask him next time I see him. Right now I was sitting at my lunch table. I was mostly by myself. Two-bit was of course sitting across from me. We had a couple of conversations too. He told me about a Soc he met from the drive in. He continued on telling me that he got her number but he was pretty sure it was probably fake. He then told me about the stuff that happened at the drive in too.

- meanwhile with Pony & Johnny -

"Wait up man!" Johnny yelled as Ponyboy's walking turned into running. As they stopped walking they saw a truck next to an oil pump.

"Well" Johnny said as he looked back at Pony

Pony looked at where he was looking. "Well what?"

"Go & ask them. Ask them where we are. The story won't be in the paper yet."

"Why don't you go ask them?"

"My ankle's hurt, and I don't wanna walk on it."

Pony shrugged. "What am I supposed to say?

"Just act like a farm boy, takin' a walk or something. They'll never know."

"Do I look like a farm boy to you?"

"Just ask them." He then reached in his pocket to grab something. "Ask em, where uh. Where Jay mountain is. Don't worry about it."

"They're gonna know who I am as soon as they look at me ."

"They're not gonna know."

They started at each for a hot second.

"C'mon.", Johnny said. That was when Pony started moving to ask the people where they needed to go from where they were.

Sorry for such a short chapter. I had no idea for this chapter. It's technically a filler I guess. I decided to make up time for the month or two I didn't upload. Most of my chapters have 1000 words or more. I'm not trying to rush this, so, sorry for the slow updates. I only update when I'm motivated enough. Although when my friends tell me they're waiting for it to update I remember about the story and try to update it for them. Since that's who I originally made it for. But it is for anybody so!
