Chapter Six | Sunsets & Sunrise.

Y/N's Pov

"Hey! Dal!", I called out for him as I saw him walking by.
"Yes doll?", He asked as he walked up towards me.
"Do you know where Pony & Johnny is?", I asked him.
"Nah, haven't seen em since the drive in.", He told me.
"C'mon Dallas, you can tell me. I won't tell a soul where they are.", I told him.
"Listen Doll, I'm telling, not because I don't want to. But because i don't want Darry to kick my head for it.", He told me.
"Ugh, but please."
"No."

"Can you at least take me if you ever go see them?", I asked him.
"Maybe"
"Please Dal!"
"I said maybe, if you keep begging it'll be a no."
I huffed. "Fine"

We stood there for a bit, kinda bored. I then looked up at Dallas. He seemed worried or something.
"C'mon, let's go somewhere", I said as I grabbed his arm.
"Like where?"
"Anywhere we can think of. Preferably the park right now.", I told him.

As soon as we got to the park we started to have small conversations. After that he pulled out a cigarette.
"Can I have one?", I asked him
"Sure.", He said as he handed me one. He them lit both of ours. After a bit I saw it was getting dark.

"The sunsets are pretty.", I said staring at it. Dally then looked at it too.
"Yeah, but I think sunrises are better.", He said.
"Really? Why's that?", I asked.
He was then quiet for a bit. "I like how the color doesn't go away ya know? Like how after darkness there's light."
"Hm, you have a point. I don't think I've really ever seen one."
"We should doll." I then smiled, as I admire Dallas.

"Well, I should probably head home before Darry says something.", I told him.
"Alright. Have fun kid.", He said he ruffled my hair.
"Cut it out", I told him. He then stopped laughing.

After that we parted ways.

| Next Day |

The next day I woke up around 6. When I walked downstairs after getting dressed I saw that Soda & Darry were both getting ready for work. We all exchanged goodbyes. They then left.

We're still all very worried about Ponyboy & Johnny. It's been two days since they left. We all tried to get info outta Dallas, but he wouldn't talk. At least not yet. I hope eventually they'll come
back though. I heard about what Happened to Bob too.

Honestly, by what Two-bit told me & how I saw he acted. I decided it was fair honestly. Although at the same time I feel quite bad.

After I finish eating my cereal, I grab my book bag and wait for Two-bit. When I saw he pulled up I stood up from where i was sitting.

"Hey Mickey fanboy.", I greeted him
(As I was writing hey Mickey came on lmao 😭)
"Hey y/n!" He greeted me back.
After that we had conversations. I occasionally laughed at how funny he was sometimes.

When we got to I stepped outta Two-bits car. After walking around a bit, I saw Cherri. I knew Ponyboy probably liked her. By the way Two-bit told me how he had a long conversation with her. But she was a Soc & he was greaser. I don't think they could ever exist. At least not in the world anyways. It sucked, but that's the way it is. How I wish stuff was different.

After going to my class and hanging around school it was time to go back home. It was now Tuesday. I had some homework to do when I got home, so I would do that. Then I would probably go to the park & hang out for a bit.

When I got home I walked upstairs and started on my homework. After that I went downstairs. "I'm going to the park." I told Soda, Darry, Two-bit and Steve.

"Alright, be back around sunset.", Darry told me. I then nodded and walked towards the park.

When I got there I climbed on bars that were in a circle, I think. I sat there looking at the sun for a bit. I started thinking about other things. My parents, our lives, socs & greasers, the gang, and their lives. I then sighed.

"I just wish everything was different." I said out loud to myself.
"I know what you mean, darling.", I heard a voice behind me as I jumped. I then looked behind me.
"Jesus Christ Dal. You scared me.", I told him

"So,how longer do you think it'll take." I asked, Dallas then looked at me confused.
"I mean, until Johnny and Pony are, i don't know... Done laying low?"
"I don't know. Don't worry about it though.", He told me.
"Okay... But I can't help but worry. It may seem like I don't, but I really do."
"I know, I understand that feeling to."
"I can tell." I said, we just nodded. After a bit I saw the sun setting.
"I gotta go home now.", I told him. He then nodded.
"See ya" I said
"See ya"

I then went back home, and went to bed.

The next few days were all the same. Going to school, then coming home & doing my homework. Pretty boring honestly. I would also keep going to the park after I did my homework, or sometimes I wouldn't. It would depend on my mood. Those days, I would lay around the house.

I was bored outta my mind with nothing to do so I mostly would watch TV, talk to the gang, or just listen to music. I had nothing better to do. Normally I would walk around, by I didn't feel like doing anything.

I still tried to keep my grades at an okay level. I somehow managed that. Little by little I had noticed I gained feelings for, Dallas Winston. The more I hung with him, the more I noticed.

I can't let anyone find out honestly. Darry'll have my ass for sure. Huge trouble ya know? I don't really want that. I love Darry and all, and I understand he has more worries now days.
