Caitlyn looked between the assortment of outfits she had pulled out of her wardrobe spread out on her bed. She had multiple options, and yet none of them seemed to satisfy her. They didn't scream 'first date' to her.
Vi, who she had been acquainted with for quite a long time, had asked her out on a date and Caitlyn immediately said yes. But she ran into a problem she hadn't considered: Figuring out what to wear for it. And not looking stupid with what she picked out.
Her bedroom door opened and her mother had come in. "Dear, are you alright?" She asked.
"No mother. I've been searching through clothes and nothing I have here seems to be working out for me. What if I pick something and look stupid?" Caitlyn started to frown.
"Dear, I'm sure Vi will find whatever you wear wonderful." Her mother encouraged with a smile. "You could wear a sack and she'd sweep you off your feet."
Caitlyn shook her head. "But she's so cool. I have to wear something cool too. Oh mother..." she sat down on her bed, a look of anxiety all over her face. "My date's in an hour and I feel so nervous."
Her mother sat next to her. "Dear, just relax and be yourself. And if she doesn't like that, she's missing out on someone amazing." She said.
The blue haired Kiramman looked at her mother. "But she's so...wonderful. She has these gorgeous tattoos and wonderful hair. A beautiful voice and a unique laugh and she's so laid back..." she went on, a smile creeping up on her face.
"Well if she's laid back, what are you worrying for? Put on your best and quit worrying so much." Her mother patted her on the top of the head. "Goodness you worry just as much as I do."
Caitlyn nodded her head, stood up and turned around to look back at the pile of clothes on her bed. Finally, she saw an outfit she liked. Simple but not too casual, and just good looking enough to where it wouldn't be classified as too dressy. A black shirt with some gold hearts on it, some elegant black pants and some nice looking boots. This could work.
With her outfit figured out, she finally got ready and went to show her mother and father her new outfit. "How do I look?"
Her mother and father smiled at her. "Oh you look so precious." They said at the same time.
Then, the doorbell rang. Her father made his way over to open it and said, "Vi! Good to see you!"
"Thank you sir. It's good to see you as well. Is Caitlyn here?" Vi was peering inside the house.
Caitlyn met her gaze. She walked over as her father moved out of the way. Vi looked gorgeous. She was dressed in a dark button up shirt with short sleeves and a collar that showed off the tattoos on her arms along with showing the tattoo on her neck along with sleek slacks. Her hair was slicked back. "You look amazing."
"So do you. I love the outfit." Vi said as she smiled at her. "Oh, and I got you these." She presented a bouquet of flowers to her.
"Oh Vi I love them." Caitlyn held them so gently in her hands.
Cassandra made her way over. "Wonderful to see you again Vi. You look as dashing as ever." She complimented.
Vi rubbed the back of her neck. "Thank you Mrs. K." She said.
"Now you two lovebirds get out of here and have fun. Safely and responsibly." Tobias said.
"We will father. I'll be home at a reasonable hour. I promise." Caitlyn told her parents.
Vi nodded her head as she and Caitlyn walked hand in hand to their destination.
