Hello, darlings! This was a poem/song (?) I wrote a very, very long time ago, so if you would excuse my mad self for any cringe-worthy rhymes––but never let that stop you from enjoying the work.

Most madly,

The Mad Poet

Sadie

Where you going?

Don't you know

The leaves are blowing

Far far away

Don't go away

Sadie

Oh Sadie!

There are clouds out today

That doesn't mean you should go away

Just stay a little longer

I know you got places to be

I'm not the dodger

Problems don't exist here for you and me

Black pleats

Crisp white shoes

Where you going, Sadie?

Your family's gonna miss you

Sadie

The little lady

Your time ain't today

So many opportunities

Just sit down and pray

Don't pack your bags

There is still so much to do

Because if you go away

Your family's gonna miss you

I'm not ruining your life

It's just some things are worth waiting for

What if they dismiss you?

Don't think I could ever bear more

Sadie

The little lady

You got so much promise

But you're not yet grown up

So why don't you just shut up?
