Lena's POV:
I still worked on rebuilding my life after the abusive relationship with Marcus, and without realizing it I found myself drawn to someone I met yesterday morning.

I first met him at a coffee shop yesterday morning I think he was a a waiter or barista I think. Before I knew it he struck up a very pleasant conversation which ended with us learning we both have a shared love of literature. Yes he was charming and articulate, with a quick wit and a mischievous smile and pretty hair and a perfect smile so what .

But I found herself intrigued by this new guy I'd met , whose name was Max. He was unlike anyone I'd ever met before, he had this air of mystery and a confidence that bordered on arrogance.

I'd quickly learn over the next few weeks, Max was "a man of many talents" and he seemed to have a deep knowledge of subjects ranging from philosophy to art to politics. He was well-traveled and had a worldly sophistication which was both intimidating and alluring.

As me and Max continued to meet up on Monday mornings and talk over breakfast , I found herself growing more and more fond of him. And I for the life of me, couldn't quite put my finger on what about him I liked so much, but I knew that there was something about him that made me practically melt in my spot.

But despite my sworn off reservations about getting involved with someone new after my past experiences, I found myself falling for Max. He was charming and attentive, and he seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me.

But as I grew closer to Max, I began to realize that there was mysterious side to him that I couldn't quite understand which made me a little nervous. He seemed to have a past shrouded in secrecy and a penchant for danger that both frightened me but also made me a little curious.

I really did try to ignore this growing unease I felt and tried to focus on the positive aspects of my relationship with Max, but I just couldn't shake the feeling that there was something he wasn't telling me.

Max's POV:

It was late one night, as we were walking home from a late dinner date, I suddenly stopped and turned to her. "There's something I need to tell you," i said, my voice low and serious.

She stiffened and turn pale and nervously look up at me as I began to speak. I revealed my dark and somewhat dangerous secret that left her reeling.

You could tell it was hard for her to process my revelation, but after a wile she must have realized that she was safe and there was nothing to worry about.
Narrators POV:

But despite her doubts and fears, Lena couldn't deny that she felt this deep attraction towards Max. She was now just caught in a web of emotions she couldn't escape, and she wouldn't know what would happen next.
