20. Baskets

No one's p.o.v

-when Louisa left-

Bolin called out for Louisa, but she didn't look back as she just walked past the messenger with a big basket of a gift. "Delivery for Avatar Korra" the messenger says before setting the basket down right by her. She then smiles at Korra saying "Tarrlok sends his compliments and urges you to reconsider his offer." From the way that sounded to Bolin, it sounded like this Tarrlok guy was trying to ask out Korra. All she responded with though was "tell him I haven't changed my mind" the messenger then bows before walking away.

"Who's this Tarrlok guy? Is he bothering you?! Huh?- cuz I can have a word with him" Bolin says protectively as he punched his hand. Korra laughed at this a little saying "no, it's not like that; he's just.. some old guy who works with Tenzin on the council." Bolin smiles at this saying "oh, good.. good, that sounds better; I'm here for you, you know that." Korra and Bolin talked a bit more before he realized he should probably check on Louisa. He smiles at her saying "I'll catch up with you later, I should get going" she nods as she went back to petting Naga.

Louisa was just starting to have Amon's voice ringing in her head when Bolin found her, he looks at her worried as he kneels down a bit. He set his hand on her shoulder, but she snapped as she stood up and Waterbended a water whip. It hit his arm which made her eyes widen at the sight of not just her hurting him, but that she used Waterbending to do it. He grunted in pain at the feeling and his skin was turning a bit red at where she hit him. "Ow! What was that-?!... for?" Bolin asks as he starts to get confused at her Waterbending.

Louisa's p.o.v

I nervously laugh as I put my hands behind my back "w-what do you mean? I didn't do anything!" I try to deflect what I did. His eyes widened before he looks me in the eye "Louisa... what happened to you in that ice?" He asks concerned. Though the boat got here, so I get on it saying "look it! We can head back to town and chill at my place." Bolin narrowed his eyes at me before getting on the boat too, he sits by me as he says "okay. But we're talking about this when we get there" I look down while biting my lip nervously.

It was a quiet ride back to the town, but when we got there Bolin got out and helped me out too; with that we're on our way to my place. When in there I get him a cup of water and I grab myself an apple as I sit down on the counter. He sits at the table as he looks at me "what happened?" He asks, so I breathe in and out. I told him what I came to realize yesterday, I also told him about meeting the guy I saved and his name is Pan. Bolin was shocked to hear all of this as he holds his hands together "so, you're telling me that you became a double-bender."

Before I could answer he added on "not just that, but you realized this only yesterday after talking with the random guy you saved. Right??" I finally nod as I take a bite of the apple, he breathes in before making an excited sound. He stands up saying "that's so cool!! I'd kill to be a double-bender! A lot of people would." "I'm not supposed to tell anyone, Cho thinks I could get hurt just because of this. You can't tell anyone either, especially my brother; if he finds out I told you, he'll be upset at both of us."

Bolin looks at me and he blinks a few times before nodding, a knock came to the door and we share a confused look. I go to answer it and see it was that same messenger, she smiles at me saying "a gift for Louisa. It's from Pan" I smile as I nod saying "thanks" she left after that, so I pick up the small basket. In it is just some fruit and a few stuffed animals, Bolin inspects the stuff saying "he got you all this?" I shrug saying "I guess so. Probably had the same idea we did for Korra, he's just thanking me for saving him."

He didn't like the idea as he just ate a pear saying "it's a bit weird that he gave you so much, all we did was give Korra a nice treat. He gave you an entire basket!" I just shrug as I bring the stuffed animals to my room. Sitting back on the counter I say "how's Mako been?" Bolin sat up in his chair at this as he smiles at me. "This girl hit him with her moped and he's been going out with her since" his words got my eyes to widen. I sit up myself as I say "what?! Is he okay??" "Totally, but you wouldn't believe who the girl is."

I tilt my head as I keep eating my apple "who??" "The daughter of the one and only Hiroshi Sato" Bolin says before crossing his arms with a smirk. That name sounds a bit familiar as I try to think on where I've heard it before, he kept looking at me. Then he realized that I don't remember who the guy is "oh, yeah - you're a bit forgetful. He's the guy who's created the Satomobiles!!" My eyes widen at this as I realize he's RICH. "Oh my-... you're kidding" "no!! He's out with her right now, I think he went to meet the guy."

Adjusting my glasses I say "at least he's out there with a girl... having fun" I realize how that sounded as I look at him. Bolin's looking at me confused "s-sorry, I just.. have always thought of how a relationship could be. To have someone to depend on, to be there for them, have fun, go on dates... it sounds nice." "Yeah, it does" "but I threw all that out the window when I lost my parents, it's hard to be out there. Not to mention after some of the stuff I've went through, I'm a piece of work" I joke which made Bolin look at me shocked.

"You don't have to give up having someone!"
