Regular Pov:

I saw my mom.

Right now, I'm. home?

It was my childhood home, I was in the yard, looking at my house. How it used to be.

Standing on the sidewalk where the Bus would drop me off after school.

My father's car wasnt in the driveway. It never was when I got home from school.

As I looked at my house, I saw her.

My Mom.

I could see her dancing in the kitchen through the window.

It felt like the air in my lungs vanished.

I just stood there for a few moments.

Looking down at my feet, they weren't childs feet, this was me, now.

I wiggled my toes in my shoes, this felt real.

I took a step, waiting for the dream to disappear. But when my foot met solid ground. My eyes shot up to my mothers figure in the window,

Oh my god.

I took off running towards my front door.

It was unlocked like it always was when I would come home.

I swung the screen door open, then the front door.

I took another cautious step into my house. Looking around, it was exactly how I remembered it.

I felt my lip quiver.

Then my senses took over.

The smell of my mom's cooking, and her perfume, filled my nose.

I slowly walked towards the kitchen.

The sound of music getting louder with each step.

My heart was racing.

I peered into the doorway.

And there she was.

Back towards the door, mixing something at the counter.

I couldn't believe my eyes.

I just stared at her.

She glanced over her shoulder at me, a smile forming on her lips.

"Hi, Honey. You hungry?"

She said sweetly, then looking back down at what she was mixing on the counter.

I slowly stepped towards her, only a few feet away.

Just silently watching her.

Her eyes glanced to me, then back down, then back to me. Eyebrows scrunching in concern at me standing there.

She put her wisk down, brushing her hands on her apron as she turned to me.

"Are you alright darling?"

I finally let out the breath I had been holding, tears forming in my eyes.

"Mom."

I lunged toward her, wrapping my arms around her. Putting my head on her shoulder, and crying.

I was never tall enough to do that before.

She wrapped her arms around me in response, petting the back of my head as i cried.

"I'm here. I'm here. It's alright honey." She said, my body relaxing on impulse, muscle memory.

She pulled back from our hug and put her hands on my face.
