Taki had been training for months, perfecting his card battle skills for the annual tournament at the Card Tower. With his heavy backpack slung over his shoulders, he made his way through the crowded streets, the excitement and nervousness churning in his stomach.

Finally, he arrived at the tower, pushing open the doors with a deep breath of fresh air. Rena caught up to him, and together they headed towards the reception hall, where the other trainers were already gathering.

The small, dimly lit room was packed with trainers, all barking into their mobile phones, trying to be heard over the others. Taki managed to find himself a spot, wiggling the backpack off his shoulders and letting it dangle to the ground. He gazed out at the standing trainers already in their assigned positions, ramping up the volume to complete.

As he turned a corner, Taki accidentally bumped into a girl, and they both dropped their belongings. "I'm so sorry," he stammered, feeling embarrassed.

The girl smiled kindly and helped him gather his things, and Taki couldn't help but notice how her smile lit up her face. He felt a warmth in his chest and a flush forming on his cheeks as he thanked her.

Introductions were made, and Taki learned that the girl was also a card fighter, competing in the tournament. They exchanged tips and strategies, and Taki couldn't help but feel a connection with her.

But when Rena noticed Taki's blushing, she asked with mild irritation, "What were you blushing about?"

Taki nervously chuckled and denied it, but Rena wasn't convinced. Just as their conversation was getting awkward, Taki pointed to the right corner, where the tournament was about to start.

As they made their way towards the main stage, Rena noticed the winner of last year's tournament, Kaito's father, had finally arrived.

He was huddled up in a covered area lined with machinery running down the right side of the stage.

Taki and his new card-fighting companion took their positions, ready to do battle.

The sturdy up lined of machine sped along it's trails down the front lines.
