Oh, what a shame
That she's in pain
Try another miracle
Another pill that'll help you grow
More side-effects will show
Shining through her skin and bones
And the pain in her eyes that no one knowsOh, such a shame
When she's always in pain
Pop some more pills,
Take some more cheap thrills
Ignore the misery and chills
The side-effects make you funny, don't you know?Oh, so sorry
That you're trapped in this misery
An eternity of this
Before your eyes
What a surprise
You'll be in pain the rest of your lifeOh, I'm sorry,
Don't look too far ahead
The future's not for the chronically ill
Live in the present, not the past
The future's not for the chronically illOh no, she's in pain still
Bump up the medication
That'll show the nerves how to be normal
That'll show the body how to act,
Who's in charge,
It's all so whackedOh, such a shame
That you're still in pain
What a shame that you can't find relief
For years and years, called everything
From being called a junkie to an addict
To someone looking for the pills and cheap thrills
Ignoring the chills and the pain that kills
You're just attention-seeking,
Your mind is making you sickOh such a scam to be alive and in agony
Twenty-four seven misery
Going on and on the decades
Just begging for one week, one day,
One minute, one second....
Away from this painOh it's such a shame
That you're in pain
Pop another pill
See if that'll kill
Either the pain
Or you
