False Princess (Itachi × Reader Fanfic, Medieval Era)

Chapter 3

"You're the one who doesn't know anything", Itachi told princess [name].

"What do you mean?"

"Have you ever asked yourself how did your father become a king? You were still too young when that happened..."

"The previous king was weak and couldn't stop the attacks from the other nations, so my father took over", she answered confidently, she looked so innocent saying those words.

"Is that what he told you? That fiend..."

"Don't talk about him like that!", [name] protested, no one had ever called her father such a horrible thing before.

"Your father became a king following a twisted path...he was a traitor...he actually planned a coup against the real king and took his place with the help of some other traitor rats like him!"

"N-No!!! I don't believe you!!!"

"Do you know who was the real king that your father killed?!", he said in a low voice, narrowing his eyes at her.

"...w-who...?"

"He was my father"

[Name] remained silent, just looking at Itachi after what he said this, is this true?...

"Your father was so sly, he was doing his best to get close to my father and win his trust and that's what happened. Your father then used the trust my father had put in him to rebel against him then he killed him and my mother, he then took the throne...", he said, while the girl was still not believing what she was hearing, this is too much.

"I managed to escape from the soldiers using the same secret path in your room I brought you through...but...", he trailed off, clutching his hands into fists angrily...

"What happened?", she asked in a low voice.

"I couldn't help my little brother to escape too, the guards caught him and I couldn't get back to him, we were still young...ever since then...I haven't seen him again..."

"I hope his soul rest in peace..."

"I NEVER SAID HE IS DEAD!!!"

"oh...sorry...how old were you when this happened?"

"I was nine years old...and he was four"

"What was his name?! Wait!!! What's your name?! Don't tell me it is no one again!", she said with a grin making him rise an eyebrow.

He smirked a little then said:"since you'll not be back, I'll tell you. My name is Itachi, and my brother is Sasuke. Itachi and Sasuke of the Uchiha..."

"Uchiha?...I think I heard of it before...I don't remember too well, the maidens were whispering as I was walking by...even the name Sasuke seems somehow familiar to me...", she said, trying to remember more.

"If your father heard those maidens, I'm sure they would be dead"

"B-but what proves what you're saying is the truth?!"

"The truth doesn't need to be proven! It will show up soon, but if I had to, I'll show you with my sword, when your father speaks and admits everything he has done to us!", he said, causing to gulp nervously.

"I mean..."

"Just spend a little time among the commoners, and you will be convinced what type of man your father is, the truth isn't what they taught you behind the walls of our castle"

"Let's say you're right, but your problem is with my father! Why did you kidnap me?", [name] asked furrowing her brows.

"I have my own reasons, but let me tell you one of them, it is to let your father know that it is not over yet, and that he will pay for what he did. I never forgot, and I'll never forgive"

"Even if that's true, you shouldn't be like him, you shouldn't face evil with more evilness"

He looked at [name] deeply as she said this, at first she seemed childish and stupid, but now, she sounds more mature and wise.

"Listen, I don't have intentions to harm you, but I had to kidnap you. When I did it, when I took you from the palace, from inside your guarded room, from your comfortable bed...everyone knew how fragile your father is, his reputation is not too well recently... even if he tries to hide it for a while, news will spread...after all, there is no smoke without fire"

"And what do you plan to do now?", she asked curiously.

"None of your business", he said, with the same cold tone as before.

"Will you look for your brother?", she asked with a grin.

"Go to sleep now, we will leave before dawn"

"Just one last question!"

"What?"

"Is your younger brother handsome too?"

"The last time I've seen him fifteen years ago, he was only four"

"Hm...that means now he'd be nineteen...I'm sure he is a handsome young man...", she said with giggle and a little blush spreading on her cheeks.

"Shut up and go to sleep"

"Fine, even though I'm not sure I'll be able to do that, but anyway...", [name] trailed off with a yawn, Itachi couldn't help but feel some remorse, she didn't do anything wrong but she still got involved into all of this...

"Are you cold?", Itachi asked the princess, yet receiving no response from her, just a moment ago she was complaining about the difficulty to sleep, but now she already snoring.

He flung the only blanket over [name], then laid down on the grass falling asleep as well.
