Max's POV

We have moved around a lot we did find a prison and moved in I really didn't want to sleep in a cell so I just took watch most nights or sat up on the roof smoking I know smoking is a bad habit too do but it's the end of the fucking world and I'm so mad at Daryl I haven't spoken or looked at he left me he fucking left me "I thought you would be up here" I look over at Rick "it's just so quiet and peaceful so I can escape this world for a little bit" he sat next to me and I offered him a smoke and to my surprise he took one and I light it up for him "so you and Daryl still not talking I see" I looked away when I heard Daryl's name "son he made a chose to get out of there to save two people or lose three people" I looked at Rick with angry eyes "so I wasn't worth saving Rick is that it should I have let Carol to die or Carl to die no I saved them because it was the right thing to do. Carol saw me coming Rick she looked straight into my eyes she knew I was coming but they left me to die to the hands of the walkers dad they left your son to die" Rick got up off the ground "listen here to you and me we are family but to the rest of the group you are the guy who saved Carl that's it " he started to walk away so I followed him into the cell block yelling his name everyone was looking at us "so what Rick or should I say dad are you embarrassed by me or yourself because you left mum for Lori you had a son on the way but you left me and mum then when I was 18 you married Lori I was at your wedding I sat at the back dad then when I was 22 I heard you had a son and the next time I see you. You were in the hospital I was 23 years old and the man who raised me loved me and supported me we was more of a father to me than you and he was more of a man then you'll ever be in your life because he stick around and raised your son" at the end I feel someone dragging me out of the cell block and to one of the gaurd tower I was so mad the person turned me around it was Daryl ohh fucking great just what I needed he didn't say anything he just kissed me and I kissed back when we pulled away for some air he spoke "Carol said there wasn't anyone out there I took her word when the group was together again I looked around for you but Carol spoked up and said you had gone down with the walkers I thought I wouldn't see you again get to hold you or just be with you when you should up it was like the life inside if me turned back on but then you hadn't spoken to me for a month and 2 weeks I was up set and" I stopped him from talking more and laid kisses on his lips and one thing went with another and another and we ended up having sex.

The next morning

I was sitting on the deck of the guard toward when I feel arm's reach around me pulling me closer to a warm body I know it's Daryl I lay my hand on his no one would be awake because the sun is just starting to raise up everyone is upset with Lori's death but to be honest it's a blessing that she's not around now but Carl has lost his mum and Rick has gone crazy me, Daryl, Beth and Carl are looking after the baby it feels like she is my kid but I don't want to deal with the baby because we might still lose her "we will not lose her Max I know we won't" I look at Daryl "I'm just scared to lose more people Daryl Rick has fucking lost it and now the group is looking to me to lead them I can't be responsible for them" I just hide my head in his chest not knowing what to do anymore

That night

I had packed all my stuff up and start to leave by time I'm in the woods I see someone behind me I bring up my crossbow ready to shoot but when the person got closer I saw it was Daryl I sat down and made a fire Daryl didn't say anything but just sat there holding me "I know you just need a break from the group" I just stayed how I was not caring about anything " Max please say something" I took in a big breath "if your brother is alive will you leave the group" I just looked at the fire "if he couldn't join us then yes I would leave" I didn't want to hear it but it's the truth the sad truth he would leave me and the group I close my eyes

In the morning

Daryl was gone so I got up and looked around I saw him walking back to the prison so I walked into the woods where the one the only Merel Dixon stood watch me and my movements "well well well if it isn't Max how long has it been a couple of years" "a year Merel a fucking year but Daryl still love's me" that's when I heard foot steps I turned around to see Daryl walking towards us but as soon as he saw his brother it was like I didn't exist anymore the to brothers were together again I looked at Daryl knowing that this was it this was goodbye I walked up to him with tries in my eyes "Daryl please don't go" he looks at me coldly "I don't need you I don't want you so go " I looked at him hurt and upset "so that's it I'm just a toy that you use well Daryl Dixon go on go off with your big brother and both of yous can go fuck yourselfs" with that the brothers walked off together into the woods
