I left work during my lunch break and made my way to Scarlet's café. It must have been at least two years since I last stepped foot in her café. Since having an assistant it's so much easier for her to pick up my coffee for me. Scarlet has it ready every morning like clockwork and repeats the same sentence to Becca every morning, 'please ask Y/N to text me'. A small cloud of guilt flew over my head when I reached the front door. She had done the whole interior up with light pink paint. The tables had new covers and the counter had moved position. Some friend I had been. I pushed open the door and smiled at my best friend serving a customer with a large smile on her face. I walked up the counter and took off my sunglasses, giving her my full attention. She had cut her hair up to her neck and had gotten a face-framing fringe. She had a bit more colour to her face too.

"Hey stranger," I smiled once she had finished serving the customer.

"Oh my god Y/N I've missed you so much," she sighed, running around the counter to tackle me into a hug.

"I've missed you too," I replied, hugging her tightly.

"Let me just get someone to cover and we can get some food," she said, taking off her apron and running off, only to come back a few minutes later with two cheese toasties and coffee.

I sat down at the far table so we wouldn't get bothered by anyone and took my coat and bag off, taking a big sip of my coffee.

"Can I start by saying how sorry I am for neglecting our friendship for the past few years," I apologised.

"Thank you, it has been shit without you in my life but I know you're really busy with Nat and work," she smiled.

"You look amazing by the way. You're literally glowing," I complimented.

She smiled and nodded her head, "MK cut my hair a few weeks ago but I am slowly falling in love with it."

"How is MK?" I smirked.

"I love her so much, she's not like anyone I've ever been with. I honestly think she's the one and I only have you to thank for introducing us all those years ago- oh and the sex is actually unreal," she smiled.

"You light up when you talk about her," I replied happily, "I'm so happy you found your person ... and finally got to experience the sex I've been bragging about all these years."

"You're next," she smirked, "are you still seeing that girl- what's her name? Nat's babysitter?"

I chuckled slightly and shook my head, "her name was Taylor and no I'm not seeing her anymore. We slept together after Nat's party, and we haven't really spoken since ... she was a senior in college so she's probably busy with exams."

"She seemed nice," Scarlet pointed out.

"She was okay, I just didn't really want a relationship."

"Lizzie broke up with Robbie again- or Robbie broke up with Lizzie, I don't know why this time. This has got to be breakup number three or four," she told me.

I hummed like I didn't know this information already, "she can do so much better."

"She deserves to be happy Y/N, you left her. You can't expect her to not move on," Scarlet said, sipping her drink.

"I didn't say that?" I inquired.

"You implied it. I'm not stupid babe, I saw the way your eyes were burning into both of them at Nat's birthday. I wouldn't be surprised if that's why you slept with Taylor," she stated.

"That's not why I slept with Taylor," I said.

"Could've falled me," she replied.

"As long as she's happy," I said bitterly.
