May 31st

"Do you want to go on a walk?" I asked Lizzie, feeling a little restless from being in the house all day, every day.

She nodded, "can we go get lunch?"

"Of course," I smiled, holding my hand out to help her up.

She groaned as she stood up and placed her hand on her belly, "can she just come out of me already," Lizzie sighed.

I laughed out my nose and kissed her head, "do you want to drive to the café?"

She shook her head, "no I want to walk, I need some fresh air."

"Me too," I giggled, "let me grab my bag and we can go, do you want my Crocs?"

"Yes please," she smiled, waddling slowly to the front door.

I grabbed my bag and slipped on my trainers, holding Lizzie's hand firmly as we walked out the front door. She put a large percentage of her weight on my arm as we walked very very slowly towards the café at the end of the street.

"My phone's ringing," she said, stopping and pulling out her phone, passing it over to me.

I giggled and saw MK's name flash up on the screen, answering and putting it to my ear as we walked again.

When she answered the phone, she was sniffling and her voice was horse, "Lizard?" she asked.

"It's me," I smiled, "Lizzie is focusing on walking. Are you all right?"

She hummed a no, and I heard as she broke down into tears.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked, looking at Lizzie with furrowed brows.

"I'm sorry I- I- can I see you guys? I need help," she cried.

"Yeah of course, we are going out for lunch, do you want to join?" I asked.

She hummed down the phone, "where are you?"

"We're on our way to the café at the end of our road, see you there?" I replied.

"Yes please," she whispered, "thank you Y/N."

"I'll see you soon, please drive carefully Mary-Kate," I said.

She hummed and hung up the phone.

"So, your sister is joining us for lunch," I told Lizzie.

"What's happened?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

"I don't know, she's been crying though," I replied sadly.

"Scarlet?" she inquired.

"Maybe? I don't know, she sounded really broken," I said.

Lizzie hummed, "I am going to piss myself; will you get our usual table?"

I nodded with a. giggle and kissed her head, "go piss gurl."

She laughed and waddled off, leaving me to sit down. As I did, MK walked through the door in comfy jorts and a massively oversized jumper. Her cheeks and her eyes were red raw, and her hair was very clearly not washed. She gave me a sad smile and sat down next to me.

"Hey," I smiled sadly, nudging her shoulder, "how are you doing?"

She went to open her mouth but instead broke down, her shoulders shaking and tears running down her face and ripping onto her jumper.

"Hey, it's okay," I said gently, pulling her into a hug.

She took some deep breaths and nodded quickly, pulling away when Lizzie sat down and wiping her eyes. My wife reached her hand over the table and held onto her sister's hand tightly.
