"Hey how come she hasn't opened her eyes yet?" A voice whines.
"Be patient, Joykit. " another says.
'Joykit? That must be her name.' I think to myself.
"But there's so much to see! So many colors!" Joykit whines. "Besides Streamlight! You said I can't go outside until she opens her eyes!"
I feel something prod my side.
"Open your eyes Stormkit!" Joykit mews.
I struggle, then suddenly I'm hit with blinding light and so many colors.
I blink a few times to get used to it.
"Uhhh... Hello?" I mew.
A striped golden shecat comes into view.
"STREAMLIGHT! HER EYES ARE OPEN!" Joykit squeals with delight.
"Oh! Hello my kit!" Streamlight smiles warmly in my direction.
"Can we go outside now?" Joykit meows impatiently, jumping up and down.
Streamlight rolls her eyes.
"Of course Joykit."
"YAYYYYYYY!" Joykit squeals, running outside.
I join her.
"Wow..." I gasp.
Outside there are so many cats, eating, talking or grooming each other.
"I know right?!" Joykit meows, jumping up and down, her eyes wide.
Then, a reddish shecat comes over to us."Hey, you're Streamlight's kits right?" She asks.
"Yes!" Joykit mews, puffing out her chest.
The shecat smiles. "I'm Amberpaw, want me to show you around?"
"Sure!" I mew, bouncing up and down.
Amberpaw smiles warmly.
"Okay let's start with the elders den..."

"Well kits, the tour ends here." Amberpaw meows.
Joykit and I yawn.
"Thanks for the tour!" I mew.
"Welcome! Anyway, you two must be tired. Go back to the nursery and sleep."
Amberpaw smiles and walks away to the apprentice den.
"C'mon Stormkit! Race you there!" Joykit squeals and starts running.
"Hey!" I grin and run after her.
We skid into the nursery, tumbling into Breezekit.
"ACK!" Breezekit yells, as we run into him.
"Oops! Sorry Breezekit!" Joykit squeaks, blushing.
"Ooooh! Looks like you have a crush!" I tease her we step past him and curl up in the nursery.
Joykit blushes more and batts ny ear.
"No I don't!" She squeals.
"Yes you do!"
"No I don't!"
"Yes you do!"
"No I don't!"
"Yes you do!"
"No I-"
Joykit was cut off as mother shushed us and said to go to sleep.
I closed my eyes and let sleep come.
