The episode begins at the Grub & Go market in Wartwood, where the Plantars and the humans are doing some shopping for the day. So far, everyone's in a good mood after the whole incident involving the stand, the other day, except for (Y/N). He's still Mad at Hop Pop for getting the whole town addicted to a scam, but at the same time, he's a lot calmer than he was yesterday, after having a chat with the unknown voice last night.

While continuing through the store, he's brought out of his thoughts by the sound of Hop Pop making a comment.

Hop Pop: Oh! Pill bugs are on sale.

Anne: Ooh! That reminds me. I'm gonna go grab some of that beetle jerky I like. (realises what she just said) Can't believe I just said that.

(Y/N): And I'll tag along, just to make sure you don't cause a scene, as usual.

Anne: (offended) I don't make a scene!

Hop Pop: Okay, kiddos. See ya outside. (grunts as he drags the heavy shopping cart with him)

Anne: (browses the shelves) Hmm. Where is that- (spots the beetle jerky) Aha! Score. And I got the last one.

As Anne reaches for the beetle jerky, a tongue appears and snatches the bag away, with the culprit being Wally.

Anne: Hey! That was totally mine, Wally.

Wally: Ya snooze, ya lose, scarecrow. (notices (Y/N)) Oh, hey, (Y/N). Have you seen where they put the spider eggs, I forgot again.

(Y/N): (chuckles) Easy, Wally. They're at the third isle, better hurry though, they're almost gone.

Wally: Don't you worry, I ain't leaving this store without a spider egg! (guffaws and hops away)

Anne: Hey! Don't call me a scarecrow! (feels something hit her leg) Oof!

Mrs Croaker: (behind Anne with her trolley) Hey! Move your big behind, scarecrow. Croaker needs her cookies. (sees (Y/N)) Why, hello, (Y/N). Thanks for cleaning out those spider webs in the house for me.

(Y/N): Not a problem, Mrs Croaker. Archie just gets hyper sometimes.

Mrs Croaker: That's true, also, you know you can just call me Sadie.

(Y/N): Well, I don't want to be rude and call someone I don't know much about by their first name.

Mrs Croaker: Well, aren't you kind. See you later! (walks off as (Y/N) waves goodbye)

Anne: My behind's not big. I'm big. (starts thinking logically) Technically, it's to scale.

Anne, who's too busy trying to think of a good remark for being called big, doesn't pay attention to where she's going, and slips on some wet floor, landing right beside the wet floor sign. By the time (Y/N)'s caught up with her, she's got the whole shop looking at her.

Teen Worker: Hey! Didn't you see the sign, scarecrow? (everyone begins laughing)

Felicia: Classic, clumsy scarecrow.

Wally: She should take lessons from (Y/N), he knows better than to not look where he's going.

As the laughing and teasing continues to grow, Anne's face turns red with embarrassment, and she leaves the store with her head held down. (Y/N), who's been watching this from behind the crowd, just sighs and shakes his head, before following Anne back to Bessie, where the Plantars are waiting for them.

Sprig: So did you get the beetle jerky you- (sees an upset Anne) Hey, what's wrong?

Anne: (sighs) Well, it's just... I've been here over a month now, and the townspeople still treat me crummy. I just wish they were a little nicer.
