"reality stops existing at night"

The young girl lives

in an upside-down house.

She sweeps the ceiling because,

she says,

her stars are on the ground.

She touches the moon with her feet

and dances with it at night;

she never pays her bills

for the planets are her light.

Her thoughts,

she says,

are backwards-

she thinks from right to left.

Sleeping in the craters,

she doesn't need anything more.

All she needs is her backwards thoughts

and her upside-down house

to get her through

all right.
