"i wrote this watching The Simpsons"
Since I met you
I've begun to understand
people who murder their lovers.
They don't like the world
but their love is making them
stick
around. And it only
makes sense
to get rid of your
reason to stay
before you leave.
When you were still here,
I wanted to leave, too.
I wanted you to go
so I could follow, and I
could never hurt you myself.
But now you're gone,
turns out no one had to hurt you.
I still want to stay.
You showed me the beauty
of the world, and gave me
a reason to be. You left then,
and took that reason from me.
I only make sense
when you're around, because
I'd seen the beauty and I
had a reason to float--
it was you.
Before,
I was blindfolded, but you made me
dive. Now, I can see,
but I've forgotten how to
swim.
And when you left, you took
all the armbands with you,
so they'd be out of my reach.
